Stalingrad, USSR, September 14th 1942 Story : Early September 1942, after a summer full of numerous victories and conquest of large territories, the 6. Armee under General Von Paulus move towards the industrial city of Stalingrad on the Volga River. The Red Army seems at bay and only some weak even demoralized units are facing the Germans. But, on September 12th, General Tchouikov takes command of the 62nd Army defending the city. He gives a new energy to these units reinforced by labour militia. However, on September 13th, the Germans take the offensive. The soldiers of the 194. Grenadier regiment are confident and move around the train station towards the Volga River. The next morning, the attack is renewed. The grenadiers progress through residential areas and their high buildings. But Tchouikov needs time to allow the arrival of reinforcements. Whereas the units of the 194. Regiment see the banks of the Volga River, a violent Russian counter attack supported by artillery is launched. The blitzkrieg is over.
