Hosingen, Belgium, December 16th 1944 Story : At the beginning of the Bulge, the informations at the disposal of the HQ of the 28th Infantry Division (under the command of the General Troy Middleton) are quite encouraging: In front of them, the Germans only have two horse artilleries. However the following barrage proved massive and deadly. The 26th Volksgrenadier assaulted Hosingen while it was told to avoid urban zones. The garrison put up a fierce resistance to the furious German assaults. But in the North as well as in the South, the 110th finished to break and started to disengage before being surrounded. Only a few men met up with the divisional HQ at Wiltz. With their tenacity, they delayed for a few precious hours the German advance towards Bastogne. The Bulge is already lost for the Germans.

Scenario rules : Use the tactical rules. The German player sets up first and start first. The battlefield consists of HW (Heavy woods), CL (Clear), VI (Village). German Headquarters HW1 CL2 HW3 CL4 CL5 CL6 HW7 VI8 HW9 U.S. Headquarters 1.

Supply Each player receives 20 points at start. Moreover, the German player receives 3 supply dices each turn. The U.S. player receives 2 dices each turn. Supply points remain hidden during the game.

Special cards Use the tactical rules (Beachhead to Berlin p77 to p86) for choosing the special cards. Special cards : Each player has a 40 special cards deck (2 identical cards max.) of his own choice. Each player draws 1 free card each turn with the possibility of buying only one other card at the cost of 6 supply points). Each player takes randomly 5 special cards in this deck before the game begins.

U.S. HQ The U.S. HQ is represented by one zone south of VI8.

Set up and reinforcements : Turn1: U.S.

The A Company starts in HW7, VI8, HW9. The units placed in Heavy woods zones have an automatic ambush card with them.

German The artillery starts in the German HQ and is fixed there during the whole game. The 1st and 2nd Companies of the 77th Kampfgruppen/ 26th Volksgrenadier start in HW1, CL2, HW3 or the German HQ. Turn 2: German Roll one die. On a 6, the 3rd Company of the 77th Kampfgruppen/ 26th Volksgrenadier enters the battlefield. Add one to the die for each turn the company did not come (automatic enter on turn 7). When it arrives, then throw another die: 1.3 it enters in HW7 and a German HQ is created left of HW7 4.6 it enters in HW9 and a German HQ is created left of HW9 Turn 3: German Roll one die. 1.2 3-6

No panzers for the German player The 2 Panzer Mk IVH arrive in CL2

Victory The German player must control Hosingen (VI8) at the end of the game. Any other result is an U.S. victory.
