  This amendment is being raised to respond to questions submitted and to make revisions to solicitation 5P420-16-5014/A: A.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Q22.

Is item 6.1 meant to be 40 meters instead of 40 each?

A22.

Please refer to Payment Procedures Section 01 29 00, Item 1.7.1

Q23.

Can we use new re-benched manholes at our own cost rather than re-benching the existing manholes as labeled in the documents?

A23.

Yes. The contractor will be responsible to bear all costs related to this item.

Q24.

Is the use of nitrogen to test gas lines required? Or can air be used instead?

A24.

Please See Section 33 11 17 Site Natural Gas Distribution Piping Item 3.6 Testing and Purging. Clean dry air will be used for gas pipe testing. Dry Nitrogen will be required to purge air from piping.

Q25.

Is there a spot onsite to dispose of hydrovac material?

A25.

The hydrovac material will be disposed offsite. Only Clean hydro-vac material (approved by the Departmental Representative) can be disposed of in Peyto Pit.

Q26.

Can line items be added to the schedule of quantities for temporary water and gas supply?

A26.

No line items can be added in the Schedule of Quantities. The cost for providing temporary water, sanitary and gas services is incidental to other work. Please Refer to Section 01 51 00 Temporary Utilities.

Q27.

Can you verify the specified RV pedestals? These pedestals appear to be specified for water supply as well as power (Model # 2B-R-DPP-11-HH-TER-1-LED-PEC-SP).

The RV pedestals are for power only.

Q28.

Is there a spec for the “TVSS”?

A28.

The TVSS shall be according to Section 26 41 00.02.

Q29.

Confirm that camping site 29 is marked 35 on electrical prints?

A29.

Camping site marked as B35 (East) on drawing E3 should be revised to read B29.

Q30.

Confirm that no bollards are needed for Fortis transformers?

A30.

There is currently no need for bollards around ForitsAlberta transformers.

Q31.

Confirm that 4 not 3 fiber pull boxes are needed?

A31.

4 fibre pull boxes are shown on the drawings.

Q32.

What are the requirements for the two kitchens at the tenting sites? ie. Maintaining power during construction? Reconnection upon completion of construction?

A32.

The two north kitchens are out of scope. Existing source cable feed from TX 14 location to be abandoned.

Q33.

Are any Fortis pull boxes needed?

There are currently no Fortis Alberta pull boxes required. Pull box details are shown for reference.

Q34.

Confirm that just the DB2 conduit stub for gas meter chamber to be included in price? (no cable).

A34.

Yes. This is a conduit stub only.

Q35.

Is there a cost/proposal from Aecom for the Arc-flash coordination or should this cost be sourced from other engineers?

Arc flash coordination study to be sourced from other engineers.

Q36.

The drawings spec [102mmC DB2, 3#500 MCM CU+ 1#1/0 AWG CU GND] from the transformer. The primary cable already has a neutral wire that can also be used as the ground. The additional ground cable #10 AWG CU is not necessary. Can we exclude this from the scope?

A36.

No. Please adhere to the wiring as shown on drawings.

REVISION TO REQUIREMENT 1. Replace Drawing # C1 Water layout Revision E with Issued for Addendum Revision F 2. Replace Drawing # CPP1 Plan Profile Revision B with Issued for Addendum Revision C 3. Replace Drawing # CPP5 Plan Profile Revision B with Issued for Addendum Revision C 4. Replace Drawing # CPP6 Plan Profile Revision B with Issued for Addendum Revision C 5. Add Drawing # ESK-1 Electrical Layout TX-15 Transformer Base, Duct, and Grounding 6. Clarification- Item 2.15 - Tie in to existing 150mm Town of Banff water main. Parks Canada has already installed a new 150mm shut off valve and one section of 150mm pipe at the campground western property line. The valve is restrained with concrete blocks located to the west. Contractor shall be required to tie into the new section of 150mm pipe. Providing insulation on the shallow pipe section (up to 50m length) shall be incidental to this item of work 7. Clarification- Item 2.16 - Tie in to existing 250mm Town of Banff water main. Parks Canada has already installed a new 200mm shut off valve (restrained against the 250 mm Tee) immediately south of the 250mm water main. A 1.5 m 200 capped stub runs to the south of the valve; both the stub and end cap are also restrained. . Contractor shall be required to remove the end cap and tie into the new section of 200mm pipe. The stub may need to be shortened to allow for the installation of the meter chamber. 8. Clarification- Item 2.17 - Plug existing 150mm water main from Town of Banff. The 150 mm gate valve at just south of the 250 mm watermain is to be used to isolate the line during construction. Contractor shall be required to plug the pipe from south end c/w a thrust block. The Town of Banff will be responsible for disconnecting the north end of the 150 mm waterline from the 250 mm watermain once the south end has been disconnected from the campground system. 9. Delete Item 2.18 Plug existing 100mm water main from Town of Banff. Already completed 10. Item 5.7-Increase estimated count by approximately 140m.

  11. Item 5.8-Increase estimated count by approximately 100m. 12. Item 5.11- Increase estimated count by 1. 13. Clarification. All mulch shall be provided by the contractors. 14. Clarification. Quality control and material testing is the responsibility of the contractor and is considered incidental to the work. All testing results and material certificates to be approved by the Parks Canada Representative.

All other terms and conditions remain the same.
