Julien Provost Inquiry for a post-doctoral position

LURPA, ENS Cachan 61, avenue du Président Wilson 94 235 Cachan cedex FRANCE B [email protected]

Education Since September 2008

2007–2008

PhD student, LURPA, ENS Cachan, Cachan, France. Domain: Automation Engineering. Title: Conformance test of sequential logic controllers specified in Grafcet. Under the supervision of Prof. Jean-Marc Faure and the co-supervision of Dr. Jean-Marc Roussel. Key points: ∗ Formalization of Grafcet specifications (IEC 60848) using stable location automation. ∗ Model translation and equivalence: stable location automaton to Mealy machine. ∗ Experimentation on a test-bench for PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers). ∗ Proposition of a new property: Single Input Change-testability of a specification. The choice of using Grafcet specification is related to the LURPA background, but this approach can be extended to other specification models

Master of Science, ENS Cachan, Cachan, France, graduated summa cum laude. Master of Science in Complex Systems Engineering, Electrical and Automation Engineering, Industrial Automation and Networks, special field: Industrial Automation and Networks. Subjects: ∗ Formal systems engineering: modeling, verification and validation ∗ Discrete event systems: synthesis and analysis ∗ Dependability of discrete event systems: Markov chains, stochastic Petri nets ∗ Network modeling: network calculus, quality of service

Collaborations and Projects TESTEC project (Test of Critical Real-Time Embedded Systems) Three-year project funded by the French Research Agency. This project is done in collaboration with two industrial partners (EDF R&D –French power supplier– and Dassault Systèmes –Software editor–) and four academic partners (LURPA ENS Cachan, INRIA Rennes, I3S Sophia-Antipolis and LaBRI Bordeaux). This project deals with benefits of coupling formal verification and conformance test.

MITPES project (Modeling, Implementation and Test of PLC-based Embedded Systems) Collaboration with Prof. Dr.-Ing. Birgit Vogel-Heuser (Chair of Information Technology in Mechanical Engineering, Technical University of Munich). This project deals with formalization of languages and models used for specification, verification and test.
