Postdoctoral position Elastic waves in irregular plates
The Laboratoire d'Acoustique de l'Université du Maine (LAUM, CNRS, Université du Maine) invites applications for a post-doctoral position dedicated to the theoretical and numerical modeling of the propagation, localization and damping of elastic waves in irregular structures. This work will be part of the PLATON project (“Plates with blind holes for harnessing of flexural waves”, ANR12-BS09-0003), which aims at exploring fundamental as well as applied aspects of flexural wave interaction with periodic or random arrays of strongly coupled subwavelength resonators (metamaterials). The candidate will notably work on following directions: • •
localization of waves in plates with an irregular edge or with volume heterogeneity, modeling of radiation in air of waves traveling in an elastic waveguide.
The initial duration of the Post-Doctoral Fellowship is 12 months. Evaluation of submitted applications is open and continue until the position is occupied. The Fellowship should be started from the beginning of 2015.
