Postdoctoral Position MR sequence development for bone tissue engineering IHU LIRYC -Centre de Recherche cardio Thoracique de Bordeaux Bordeaux-France

Position description A18-months postdoctoral position is available at the Centre de Recherche cardioThoracique de Bordeaux (INSERM U1045, Bordeaux-France), under the supervision of Dr B Quesson. The objective is to develop and validate 2D and 3D Ultra-Short TE sequences on a 1.5T Siemens scanner. Such sequences will be evaluated in the context of bone tissue engineering on large animals. Other applications are anticipated such as 3D imaging of the thorax. The candidate will work in a MR methodological team, in collaboration with UMR 5536 (Dr Sylvain Miraux, RMSB, UMR5536, Bordeaux-France) and with chemists and biologists specialized in biomaterial synthesis and pathological bone models. Qualifications The position is available for PhD candidates with know-how in MRI sequence development and strong background in physics or engineering. Established experience in pulse sequence programming on Siemens MRI scanners with Matlab code for image reconstruction will constitute a strong added value. Facilities The research unit is equipped with a 1.5T Siemens magnet dedicated to method development and preclinical research. The imaging group is composed of 8 scientists involved in MRI development and image processing, with the help of a MR application specialist from Siemens. The Center is located at the Plateforme Technologique d’Innovation Biomédicale (PTIB) close to Bordeaux (Pessac, France) Environment Bordeaux is a 1-million urban area and hosts one of the largest university and research community in France. Located in South west of France in close proximity of the Atlantic Ocean, the city, part of the World Heritage List, offers a wide range of cultural and outdoors activities. Conditions of employment The duration of the position is 18 months with a net salary between 2100 and 2300 €, depending on the experience of the applicant (financial support from the French National Agency for Research (ANR), project TecSAN-IneoV).
