Guillaume Musso Brooklyn Girl

(La Fille de Brooklyn) A dizzying psychological thriller with a staggering ending.

I remember the moment very well. We were looking out over the sea, the horizon shining, when Anna asked the question: ‘If I did something terrible, would you still love me?’ How would you have answered? Anna was the lady of my life. We were getting married in three weeks. Of course I would love her, regardless of what she had done. At least that’s what I thought, but she feverishly rummaged through her bag and held out a photo to me. – I’m the one who did this. I gazed upon her secret, stunned, and Already knew that our lives had been shaken 700,000 forever. copies! In my state of shock I got up and left without saying a word. When I returned it was too late: Anna had disappeared. And I’ve been looking for her ever since.

There Where the Sun Disappears

Seven Ways to be Happy or the Paradoxes of Happiness

(Là où le soleil disparaît)

(Sept façons d’être heureux ou les paradoxes du bonheur)

A strong testimony An account on resilience an singular and poetic writing

When I first began this story I knew that the pages of the genocide and the massacre of my family in Rwanda, in 1994, were waiting for me. I knew that writing about this ancient agony would be like putting spoonfuls of pili-pili sauce in an open wound that we desperately want to believe has healed. And, in the retrospective process, I discovered other wounds. Deep. Burning. This book took me almost five years to finish.

For the first time the singer Corneille revisits the Rwandan genocide, the miracle of his survival, his infallible hope, his dreams, the immense success that he has experienced, but also the distance that he had to take these past years in order to for him to reconnect with his history and his roots.

A heart-rending story, written in an extraordinarily poetic manner, of an artist, but above all of a man, in search of his truth.

One of the most brilliant philosophers of our time delivers us keys to find real happiness. Published October 6, 2016 330 p.

Far from the so-called “rules of wisdom” that apply to everyone, Luc Ferry addresses the question of happiness, omnipresent in our societies, by deeply reflecting on the experiences that, throughout life, help to improve it. If it is vain to make happiness the goal in one’s life, love, admiration, creation, freedom, knowledge, politics, action can make one incredibly happy. These experiences, the philosopher relates, trigger unique and intense joy. There is not just one but many paths to happiness, and Luc Ferry has chosen seven. During these times of illusory desires and somber events, this book, full of precision and energy, shows how man, when he takes action and opens up to others, is able to receive this unexpected gift that gives meaning and beauty to life.

to be Published november 3, 2016 300 p.

A new and original approach to happiness that reminds us that we all carry within ourselves the ability to instigate these precious moments of joy and fulfillment.

Historical Biography

French Revolution Take Arms, Citizens!

Henry IV – A French King (Henri IV – Un Roi français)

(La Révolution française Aux armes citoyens !)

The terrible destiny of Henry the Fourth, the King they wanted dead. A gripping tale. He is the King of France and of Navarre who had hoped to overcome dissentions and permit Catholics and Protestants to live together by signing the Edict of Nantes. Henri of Navarre, the Huguenot, converted to Catholicism in order to bring the alliance to fruition. A decision he paid for with his life: on Friday May 14, 1610, the exalted Catholic François Ravaillac stabbed the king in his coach. In this fastpaced text, Max Gallo paints the portrait of Henry IV, the vigorous Bearn, great hunting enthusiast, unbeatable at jeu de paume, crazy about women and yet one who never ceased, using a combination of strength and clever negotiation, to consolidate the State and prevent France from falling into civil war.

A Best-seller by Max Gallo!

Max Gallo has always been at the forefront of his career as a novelist, essay writer and historian. With a degree in History, a PhD in Literature, and having taught for a long time, he is the author of many novels and biographies. He became a member of the Académie Française in 2007. 1774. Cheered on, a young king takes the throne. “Louis XVI, they write in the papers, seems to promise the nation the most gentle and prosperous reign.” Fifteen years later, confronted with a starving population that is trodden by taxes, Voltaire, Mirabeau, Danton, Marat, Robespierre make a call for justice, freedom, action and revolt if necessary…. January 21, 1793. Louis XVI, King of France, climbs up the scaffold. This spilling of royal blood makes all compromise impossible. The Convention calls to the nation “Take arms, citizens!” But soon after terror reigns. The blood spill becomes a river that engulfs everyone in its fury. Until a general calls for the return to order. His name is Bonaparte… Photo © Richard Schroeder

On May 27, 1610 the feet and hands of the regicide are attached to four horses, his flesh is torn off with hot tongs and then “we whip the horses and they rear up, neighing”. In Paris the wild mob fights over the remains of Ravaillac’s body.

History will retain that this great King was a king of all French people, tireless apostle of tolerance and harmony.

With French Revolution we experience the events from the inside.

Much differently than in our childhood schoolbooks; a groundbreaking and founding narrative about one of the major shakeups in our History where everyone – people, philosophers, bourgeois, clergy, nobles, king – will be swept away in the violent storm.

Published September 15, 2016 256 p.

In his narrative Max Gallo slips into the skin of Ravaillac. He is heard ruminating over his obsession and then closing in on the sovereign in order to deliver the final blow. The Queen, Marie de Medicis, cries over her husband for nine nights, and then she orders a butcher to inflict the worse possible tortures on Ravaillac.

Unfamiliar and passionate stories in which sentiments are powerfully expressed: love, jealousy, hatred, pride, sex, desire and power. After the great myths of origins – Noah, Adam and Eve, Sodom and Gomorrah – the second volume of The Bible as a Novel allows us to discover the turbulent history of the people of Israel and the land that God promised them.
