Florence Béraud-- Learning Specialist 43 rue de l'auberge- 01210 Ornex- France [email protected] - HP: 00 33 65 39 84 46 http://www.florenceberaud.com As you read the word “learning specialist”, you might be wondering what I do...Well, I would say that a learning specialist designs and develops learning experiences. Here, I use the word “learning experiences” rather than training projects because a key role of the learning specialist is to make sure that students learn what they need to know, in a way that will ensure retention and application of the learning to their work situations and for the benefit of their organisations. If a training program is about putting content into PowerPoint slides to give presentations, providing text to read or downloading information from a website, then there is no need for a learning specialist. The subject matter expert can identify the content, write it, and pass it onto the students. Training has been delivered but has learning taken place? As a learning specialist I will bring to your projects an overall and comprehensive approach, ensuring efficiency of the learning process. For that matter, I can provide the following services  FACILITATION for events related to knowledge sharing, strategic and project planning, team building, community engagement, conferences, workshops or seminars...Etc Facilitation will enable your groups and organisations to work more effectively, collaborate and achieve synergy  INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN. for  training needs analysis  design, delivery and evaluation of training programmes  design and development of training materials  design and facilitation of e-learning projects Most learning specialists have an education or training background and I am no exception to this. I worked initially with IT companies, Apple and Sun Microsystems, before specializing in IT training. Later I shifted towards development co-operation; I worked in Africa and Asia designing, delivering or evaluating a range of training and capacity development programmes. My initial education is an MBA degree (USA) and between 2004 and 2006 I took part in an elearning programme on Training of Trainers techniques and tools, instructional design and adult learning. During the past years my clients have included Médecins du Monde, Handicap International, the ILO, the FAO, the WHO, the UNHCR, the World Bank, the ICC or the University of Geneva. On a regular basis, I collaborate with the International Training Center of the ILO (Turin) For further information, consult my website or email me at [email protected]
