Sustainable Sydney

COMPTE RENDU This document is a recording entitled ‘Sustainable Sydney’. A man introduces the city he lives in Sydney and talks about the challenges that must be addressed to make it a more sustainable city. First, he tells us that Sydney is the largest city in Australia and that it has to face many problems due to the rapid urbanization, the rapid rate of population growth and the heavy traffic, especially in Central Sydney (the CBD – the Center Business District). To alleviate the pressures of urbanization and maintain a clean environment, politicians must take decisions and pass reforms such as -using more green technology - promoting the use of public transport -fighting against heavy traffic in George Street (in the CBD) by creating pedestrian-only streets and not allowing cars in this part of the city any longer. -cleaning up the area to make it prettier (improving the urban landscape)
