Further expanding the Grass Valley Triax HD transmission system, the Triax repeater for the LDK 6000 mk II camera series supports a greater transmission distance for high-definition (HD) signals than any other solution available. This combination is an excellent alternative to hybrid fiber transmission systems Using the new repeater, you can send HD video signals over Triax cable up to 6,600 feet (2,000 meters)—without a significant loss of signal quality. By comparison, the maximum cable length possible without using the repeater is 3,300 feet (1,000 meters).
As a result, the Grass Valley LDK 6000 mk II camera can be used for a greater variety of challenging live HD events including many applications in golf, skiing, and auto and horse racing. What’s more, the Grass Valley LDK 6000 mk II camera series can easily handle Triax and fiber transmission systems, making it an unrivalled production tool. The Triax repeater comes in a tough, weather-proof metal box that includes a power tab, a Triax repeater board, a filter unit, and a one-half 19-inch rack housing. During HD productions, it sits halfway between a mobile unit and the LDK 6000 mk II in the field. It regenerates and amplifies the video signals which are transferred from the base station and the camera and, in this way, doubles the maximum Triax cable length to up to 6,600 feet. In addition to the LDK 6000 mk II series, the Triax repeater supports the Grass Valley LDK 5000, an HD upgradeable standard-definition camera, and in studio configurations with a Grass Valley SuperXpander Kit.
