The aim of this new project is to build a school to teach the children how have ecotourism business. Build guesthouse school: to organize local ecotourim business in the valley for developping young people work. Teach children a “life education”: This part of project is to complete the education of some children who can’t go in middle school. Some children could learn to have skills in English or cooking or other skills, more Chinese etc…. in order to could have some job in the valley to care of person notably in ecotourism. The school will be free for the children. During 3 or 4 years they will learn: • English language • Chinese language • Mathematic (to manage budget and do quotation) • Cooking or Sewing depend on their choose • Computer teaching • Cleaning and fix the equipment of a guesthouse • Take care of vegetable garden The guesthouse is also in order to develop Ecotourim business in the Dzongsar country. Lab Dra Khampa will manage this guesthouse-school (Adha Tsering and Marie Delvaux the leaders of the association). The incomming of the guesthouse will be invest on the school: • to have equipment for guesthouse • to have equipment for school • to teach • to sponsor some children of the Dzongsar area to go to middle school in Dege or Manugango • to sponsor some children of the Dzongsar area to go to college in kangding. The guesthouse will propose to the guest: • traditionnal and local food • Accomodation (room for 2, 3 or 4 person with shared bathroom) • Tour guide in Dzongsar area (from 1 day to see the landscape around Fzongsar, 4 days to camp and walk around, or more like 15 days to walk from Dzongsar to manigango by pass) • Internet connexion • Tibetan Cultur and exchange with local people • Some local think doing by the school (clothes, tablecloth etc….) • Khamkey language teaching The children will take care of tourist and could improve their English language, cooking etc… The tip from guest will be share between the children. The stake is to develop Ecotourism in Dzongsar area and teach the children who can’t go to middle school or college to be local guide or open some shop or restaurant after their study in school, in Dzongsar area or in Kham country. Lab Dra Khampa mains « School of Kham » in Tibetan. Lab Dra Khampa is a French non-politic and non-profit making association. The association aims to help children and to cooperate in the development of common structures of the Dzongsar area. The Dzongsar program includes different projects with 3 aims: Education Environment Eco tourism The Dzongsar Tibetan School project is one of the projects of the Dzongsar program. Education: Rebuilding the Dzongsar Tibetan primary school, currently under tent or outside and improve the bad conditions in the others primary schools. Improve the skills of teaching and build a middle school in order to give the children a sufficient education to manage themselves the future structures of the local economic system. Environment and Eco Tourism: Education regarding the basic sanitary and healthy rules, protection of the ecologic system, organization of the garbage collection. Helping in management of ecotourism and developing the local skills for the future job in local economic system. Building a cultural centre: Building a library, free health centre, a cultural and socializing meeting centre for children and their community Lab Dra Khampa relies on French and international volunteers and the collected funds will be used to finance the different projects of the Dzongsar program. From august 2007 to December 2009: Story of the school in Dzongsar, Before 2007, the old school was near the monastery in an old building. This building was dangerous and teaching was under tent.

In October 2008, the school is open.
Since October, teaching is in the new school. Around 80 children between 6 and 19 years old go regularly to school. 3 teachers and one Chinese teacher care of the children. Not enough furniture. No heating (4000 meter high up). Electricity but no water. children have been sufficient level to go to middle school. All of these have need help and have required sponsoring to continue their education.
