Gerard Pansanel Frizzante orchestra A meeting of mediterranean strings

After six albums inspired by Mediteranean with great european musicians like Aldo Romano, Enrico Rava, Paolo Fresu, Antonello Salis and concerts with great american musicians like Don Cherry, Lester Bowie, Archie Shepp, Billy Hart, Ron Mc Clure and also Phil Manzanera & ... Neneh Cherry, Gerard Pansanel created the Frizzante Orchestra with for objective to favor the encounter of mediterranean strings instruments. For this orchestra our montpelliérain had the wish of a rainbow of guitars, mandolins, ouds, voice, violin, bass & percussions with musicians from mediterranean country (France, Turquie, Algeria ...) The casting replies to these expectations. With Claude Barthélémy (guitar, oud), former director of the onj (National Orchestra of Jazz) that assures with him certain arrangements; Fethi Tabet (ud, derbouka, voice); Regis Huby (violin); Patrick Vaillant (mandolin); Frédéric Monino (bass); Joël Allouche (percussions, drums); Demba Coulibaly (djembé, voice). A combination of strong personnalities, instrumental propositions, tones, rythmns, capable to create a music that assumes a spirit, compositions, improvisations, games of clean codes to this “Mare Nostrum” . Manner to assert that there is musicians that, because they live under the line of the olive trees, instill into their notes daily light, perfumes, sounds, human relations suitable to this planet area. The result of this wager base on elective affinities is unique, far collages and manners mergers «World music». What they are called « The red lézard », « Patmos », « Viaggio lento »... the musical pieces play the “shadows and light”, indolence or fury, the suggested and the exuberant, mischievousness and contemplation as the fact was to play with numerous facets of southern psyche. The listener being embarked on a strange noria of references, of orchestral colors: the tarentelle playing at hides hides with the cante jondo, the maquam hunting the rébétiko... all of this with fluidity, natural expression, friendly ...like a road movie soundtrack of which audience has the choice of the landscapes , served by a catalog that marries the requirement of a writing and the escaped free of the improvisation; all ingredients that, to the end of the account, leave to think that Frank Tenaille ulysse was happy.
