EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP BMX Rounds 1 & 2 BMX club Circuit Zolder BELGIUM 02/03 APRIL 2011 BMX Club Circuit Zolder has the honor to invite you on its race track in Zolder for nd rd rounds 1 & 2 off the 2011 European Championships on the 2 & 3 of April 2011. Circuit Zolder, the only race track in Flanders, finds its roots in the late 1950’s and has been the scene for various milestones ever since. The entire range of motorsports has been present on the circuit, and some of them still are. The highlights were the multiple Formula 1 Grand Prix’ that have been held. In the late 1960’s, Belgian and World Championships Cycling have already been organised at Circuit Zolder. So you can see that close to the automotive part there is a cyclingunit at our Race-Track. Since 2008 Circuit Zolder has founded a new BMX club named after the racetrack. Since the sport has been recognized by the Olympic Committee it has been booming in Europe. Our track “the Lotto BMX-track” is 400 m long and is equipped with a pro-section (since 2010) and on our largest corners, there will be a new layer of tarmac for this event. After only 2 years we already are the biggest club in Belgium with 140 members. We have organized the next BMX events in 2010: Top competition BMX, Province Championships of Limburg and the Belgian Championships BMX. Heusden-Zolder Heusden-Zolder is a municipality located in the Belgian province Limburg near Hasselt. We have a population of 30.896 and the total area is 53,23 km². Heusden-Zolder was the result of the merger of the two former municipalities of Heusden and Zolder in 1977. During the 1960’s Belgian coal mines faced an enormous shortage of employees. To address this problem, foreign laborers were encouraged to immigrate and work near the mines. In 1992 the last mine in the BENELUX located at Zolder closed his doors. Besides the mines Heusden-Zolder has a beautiful nature, forest, lakes and castles. Like the castle Meylandt and the castle Vogelsanck. National Team Pitlane The National Team Pitlane will be next to the Lotto BMX-track and close to the parc fermé. At a cost of € 100,00 for the weekend, it’s possible to put 1 standard push-up tent. st The National Team Pitlane will be open from 12.00 on Friday the 1 April and is available for all teams. It is possible to buy an online Pitlane entrance for your national team tent. At: www.ticketmatic.be/ek-bmx Payments can also be done by the Team Manager at our WELCOME CENTER (See map bellow).

Location The BMX track is located at the Circuit Zolder race track. Circuit Zolder is situated nearby two major highways in Belgium, on approx. 4 km of the E313 and approx. 1,8 km of the E314.

 

It is possible to take the exit 26 bis (ZOLDER LUMMEN / CIRCUIT ZOLDER) on the E313 or to take the exit 27 (CIRCUIT ZOLDER) on the E314. Follow the signs when you reached one of the two exits. Address: Terlaemen 30 – 3550 Heusden-Zolder.

Food & beverages There will be many food and beverage booths around the Lotto BMX-track. The booths will be open from Friday, Saturday and Sunday during practices and racing. There are bakeries, supermarkets and restaurants at 1 km from the race track in the center of Bolderberg.

Parking Car parking is located 400 meters from the Lotto BMX-track, follow the guidelines of the stewards or the parking signs. It is not allowed to park your car against the main road next to the race track or on the public roads. Traffic and parking within the site are under strict regulations and controlled by our stewards. Please respect the stewards’ guidelines in order to make it as smooth as possible for everybody.

Security – Paramedics The entire site will be lightened at night and secured by a security team with dogs. A paramedics team will be present at practices and racing. BMX club Circuit Zolder and the city of Heuden-Zolder do not bear any responsibility regarding thefts or damages happening on the site, during the race, on the parking lots, on the campground or the Circuit Zolder site. Please respect the environment and adopt a green attitude using the equipments at your disposal.
