Zet@Micro or Zet@Premium

For the detection of small defects such as cracks or holes CONTRÔLE MESURE SYSTÈMES provides the powerful solution on line. or Zet@Premium provides the higher sensitivity with simultaneous single test encircling differential and absolute coil with a magnetizing unit and a very easy integration into existing tube, wire, bar manufacturing lines.

When testing magnetic materials using Eddy Current, it is necessary to magnetize the part in order to obtain an adequate signal to noise ratio. Magnetization of the part will also prevent spurious signals due to changes in local permeability. After Eddy Current testing, there may be a residual magnetic field remaining on the part. This residual field may be objectionable to the manufacturer; it may therefore be necessary to install a demagnetizing unit on the production line. In case of non-magnetic material a support coil replace the magnetizing unit.

Advantages

Unlimited high inspection speed Low maintenance

Possibility to inspect a lot of production lines using one multi-channel Zet@Master

Analysis output report by lot or single tube units, on the operator’s request Sorting by defect severity View of all control parameters and position of the defects on a single screen Monitoring of the noise level, with an alarm, to detect defects caused by the manufacturing process

Method of operation The rod is located to the fed conveyor and guided to the coil support. The encircling coil is located in the coil support within the magnetic field of the magnetizing unit. According to the test results, the rod is sorted to either good or rejected piles. Eddy Current testing is performed by the encircling coil and Zet@Premium or Micro generator. Detecting cells in the entry side are used to suppress the “end effect” signal. When a defect is detected, the system will activate: a line shutdown, marker, visual alarm, saw and some other output. Use of an encoder will permit precise location of defects in the output report.

or Micro mono or dual channel: in dual allows use of one channel in absolute mode for detecting long defects (essentially for rolled welded tubes) Coils: 5 standard sizes Differential / absolute and / or multi-differential and absolute (used primarily for detection of long defects) Magnetizing unit: 5 standard sizes Option: Opening magnetizing unit (3 sizes) and opening floating coils for continuous product production lines. This will reduce line down time as well as requirement for coils For production lines or non-ferrous materials, the magnetizing unit is replaced by a coil support Marking system: instant drying ink (2 standard colors), for high speed production lines Encoder for locating defects and reporting Report output: with indication of defects: location and severity, by lot or by individual part, statistical report output (much appreciated by Q.C. department)
