DOMAINE LE GARRIGON CUVEE DES VIEUX TRUFFIERS CÔTES DU RHÔNE Red Maison Louis Bernard, based in Gigondas, France, was founded in 1976 in the heart of the Rhône Valley and its renowned Crus. Over the past 20 years, we have established close partnerships with more than 20 respected vineyards owners. Founded in 1919, Domaine le Garrigon has been passed down for three generations and is located in the heart of the Côtes du Rhône area, near the village of Tulette, in the provencal Drôme. Since 1997 the property has been cultivated organically, without pesticides; one of the first Domaines to do so in the region. ‘Cuvée des Vieux Truffiers’ name evokes the iconic Vaucluse other fruit : truffle. A gourmet treasure that grows not far from the vineyards of the Domaine. Grape varieties : Mainly Black Grenache and Syrah
Winemaking : The grapes are harvested when fully matured. They are then completely de-stemmed and put through the traditional vinification process. The grapes spend 3 weeks in large cement vats to extract the maximum amount of colour and aromas. The wine then spends 10 months in vats before bottling. Tasting notes : Deep red colour with bright ruby tints. Pleasant and elegant nose opening with black fruits notes mixed with spices. Ample, silky and supple mouth with a round finish. Serving suggestion : Serve between 63°F and 65°F now or within 3 to 4 years after release. Food pairing :This wine goes very well with grilled meat, sausages, slightly pasta dishes or soft cheese.
