A French-Icelandic encounter... Our Icelandic guests are : - LINDA VILHJÀLMSDOTTIR and MÖRÐUR ÁRNASON. Linda, Icelandic poet, will be til the end of October resident at HÖFN,, as well as Mörður. She has been working and still is on 3 different projects : – une collection of poems titled Frelsi (Freedom), in 4 chapters – a script for a TV program/film in collaboration with film director Vera Sölvadottir (working title: « life after death ») – … anx what could be her main writing subject while at HÖFN: a memory book about her childhood/youth as Reykjavík is beacoming extremely fast a « real town ». – Mörður has studied Icelandic and linguistics (in Reykjavík, Oslo, Paris), he has been a journalist, a publisher (very interested in dictionnaries), a minister councellor, a socialist MP (2003−13). He works now freelance on cultural and political records. In March 2015, Hallgrímur Pétursson's will be published with his comments. He hopes during his staying in marseilles, at HÖFN, with a pinch of optimism (sic) : - to bookproof the PSALMS, - to translate from Swedish a booklet, an introduction to Modern Socialism, - to read few books/articles by the Greats of French dictionnaries(Larousse, Robert etc...). - MAGNEA B. Magnea, actress, decided in 2012 to shoot a documentary : HVERFISGATA, … actually the name of the first High Street in Reykjavík. Its (Hi)story is a long one, and not so conventionnal and unadventurous... but its future will be suject to aCity renewal program , that could drastically change what was always its distinctive feature, what made it perhaps so typical : being a shelter as much as a sustenance for artists and all those « on the fringe » ... Þór is a guide, all around Iceland. BUT ALL FOUR ARE ALSO, SIMPLY, INHABITANTS OF REYKJAVÍK... THAT WILL MEET INHABITANTS OF MARSEILLES...
HÖFN will show Magnea B. Valdimarsdottir ' documentary : Hverfisgata (20 minutes -English subtitles), and open afterwards a friendly and free discussion from such questionning as : - Whid did Magnea WISH to shoot this film to begin with? - HERITAGE? What is under this word for inhabitants of Reykjavík, or Marseilles ? - What do we want to defend, protect, revive, create in Marseilles as residents in a specific district, street, or special town area ? And what about people of Reykjavík ?? - What do we try to do, here in Marseilles, there in Reykjavik to let inhabitants' voices be heared ?? … few questions which will be just a starting point for an exchange of points of view... We'll see where it will lead us !
More details (program, organisation, event place, registration for the event...) It will ALL happen at « Cap 15 », (we thank ALL there!) (Bus 25 or 26 from the Metro station Bougainville or TER Marseille-Aix – as long as you check it is indeed stopping at Saint Antoine... at a convenient time as well!). From Saint Antoine Avenue, walk into the Place Canovas right to the end, walk across the car park until the Cap 15 gate. You'll just have to push open (only for this occasion!) the small door on the left. You'll see signs to show you where to go then. 7 pm : time for everybody to arrive, 7.30 pm: the documentary HVERFISGATA is shown. 8 pm : we start discussing about the film and all the aforementionned questions, savouring at the same time Icelandic delicatessen , thanks to LINDA VILHJÀLMSDOTTIR and HAFDÍS VILHJÀLMSDOTTIR
As always, this little event will be modest and rather intimate, as we like all our « events » to be at HÖFN : no more than 40 to 50 guests … We ask you therefore to send us a mail if you wish to be part of that evening :
