Volunteer Office Liaison (VOL)* April 27 – May 6, 2017 Festival Staff Pass Travel between festival venues (full time hours**)

The Volunteer Office Liaisons (VOLs) ensure that all Hot Docs volunteers are having a great experience and assess the general operation of various festival venues. The VOLs primarily act as liaisons between the Volunteer Office and festival venues by checking into each venue daily to report on any issues that need to be dealt with immediately. Please note that this position requires a large time commitment during the festival as well as a lot of walking and talking with the many different people who make this festival run smoothly.

Duties and Responsibilities • Attend any relevant training related to the VOL position (e.g. Captain’s training and Hot Docs staff meeting) • Visit festival venues to record feedback from staff, Captains and volunteers on the VOL Report • Provide feedback on successes and challenges from festival venues to Volunteer Operations Assistant in daily meetings • Manage off-site volunteer info desk at the Rogers Industry Centre which includes directing and answering any questions from Industry volunteers and some knowledge of Hot Docs’ CRM • Answer general inquiries from volunteers on shift • Assist with the set-up and management of the off-site festival Volunteer Office including pick-up and delivery of necessary material to festival venues • Assist with assessing venue needs for Floaters and help with dispatch (if necessary) • Complete a festival post-mortem detailing successes, challenges and suggestions for the Volunteer Office • Other duties as required *This position requires submitting a resume and an interview. **Time Commitment Each VOL is expected to commit to FIVE consecutive days during Hot Docs 2017 for a day shift or evening shift. Please note: Daytime Shift start times may vary according to the film schedule.
