Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival is a not-for-profit organization and North America’s largest documentary festival, conference and market. In the office, in the theatres and at special events, Hot Docs counts on its volunteers to help the Festival run smoothly and we highly value their dedication. The Festival Videographer volunteer will be working alongside the Video Production Coordinator to document special events and screenings during the 2018 Festival. This is a great opportunity for film to gain more experience and play a unique role in the Festival. Not only will volunteers gain more experience and make valuable connections on the team, they will also have access to select industry networking events during the Festival. Professional gear will be provided. We require a commitment of five full days (shift lengths and start times vary but are generally 4-5 hours), from April 26 – May 6, 2018. Preference will be given to those who are available for the FULL 11 shooting days of the Festival. Key Requirements • A solid understanding of how to operate DSLR cameras and lenses. Experience with the following is considered an asset: Canon 5D Mark ii, Canon 5D Mark iii, Canon 5D Mark iv, Canon C100/300, and Sony EX3. • Experience with audio recording (e.g. Wireless lav, shotgun and Zoom H4N/H6N). • A positive, friendly and responsible attitude. • Careful attention to detail and 100% reliability is a must. • An interest in documentary film and getting involved with the second largest documentary Festival in the world!

Benefits • 2018 Hot Docs Festival Staff Pass (access to Festival events and screenings as well as special industry events, workshops and services). • Silver Membership to Hot Docs Festival and Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema • Pair of Friends & Family Same-Day Passes which provide one film ticket per screening for any Hot Docs 2018 film (day-of only redemption at venue box office). • Access to select industry networking events • Reference letter and post-secondary school hours (if applicable) For Press Conference Videographer Position: Please forward a cover letter and resume by (up to) March 9th, 2018.
