Social Media Volunteer April 26 – May 6 2018 Hot Docs Festival Staff Pass Various Festival venues in Downtown Toronto

Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival is a not-for-profit organization and North America’s largest documentary festival, conference and market. In the office, in the theatres and at special events, Hot Docs counts on its volunteers to help the Festival run smoothly. We highly value the dedication of our volunteers. The Social Media Volunteer will work alongside the Social Media Coordinator documenting special events, screenings, Q&As, patron feedback, and candid captures of the Festival atmosphere. This is a great opportunity for marketing, media, promotions, and/or photography/video students to gain more experience and play a unique role in the Hot Docs Festival. This position requires a commitment of 16 hours. Shift lengths and start times vary and may be adjusted to coincide with specific events. Generally shifts will range from 4 – 5 hours. Preference will be given to those who are available the first weekend of the Festival (April 26 – April 29).

Key Requirements • • • • • • •

Experience with Special Event coverage Experience with social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook) Experience engaging with patrons/customers A positive, friendly, respectful, and responsible attitude Able to work under pressure Careful attention to detail and 100% reliability is a must An interest in documentary film and getting involved with the second largest documentary Festival in the world!
