SA U RIA N The Saurian is a special breed of flying lizard, used exclusively used by the First Airborne of Dunkelburg. They are the war-horse of the air, and very effective in war and for surveillance assignments. Capable of carrying one fully armoured man, or two lightly armoured, it is very often a very nasty surprise to any enemy and as a very favorable tactical aspect, Saurians can be deployed very fast and are not hindered by difficult ground. The Saurians are also capable of fighting back, and rips their opponents apart with their terrible claws and their long beak, which is filled with razor-sharp, long and pointed teeth. They, themselves, are creatures of great physical strength and therefor capable of carrying heavy objects, using also their enormous wingspan to float long distances. It has taken several centuries to breed the perfect Saurian, and it is only within the last 400 years, that the combined genetically/Magickal efforts succeeded in creating the Saurians that are used today. Although they are ferocious winged predators, the Saurians are easy to control; at least if one has been trained to do so, even though they are chained when not in use, the Saurians never try to escape. Physique: Although basically a reptilian, the Saurian is very birdlike, but they are, never the less, scaled and features gigantic, membranous wings and a pterodactyl-like head, incorporating sharp, pointed, and long teeth, within their long beaks. The largest of the Saurians have a wingspan of over 40 feet, but the average wingspan of a Saurian measures from 20-30 feet. It is only the higher-ranking officers in the First Airborne who is allowed to ride the largest of the beasts. The reptiles also feature strong, broad legs, which terminates in great claws, capable of shredding armour as if it was paper. The thick scales of the Saurians cover every inch of them, making it difficult to kill them with ordinary bows. When fully erect, a Saurian will stand between 8 and 16 feet high. The colour will usually be a combination of green, brown, grey or black. The Saurians of the nature are much smaller than their bred brethren in Dunkelburg, being roughly half their size.

Alignment: If trained, a Saurian will be Neutral of alignment, but wild creatures will be Chaotic. Psychological Traits: Saurians cause fear in all living creatures when attacking, and are themselves immune to all psychological effects. Special Rules: Saurians fly as Swooper, but they are also capable of hovering above the same place for D3 turns. Saurians attacks three times per round. One attack will be with its massive beak. The two remaining attacks can be any combination of bashes with their enormous wings, or hit the target with their sharp talons. Saurians can carry one heavily armoured man, or two lightly armoured men, plus their Strength x 300. But encumbering them with the extra equipment, will tire them not long after takeoff and it would be advisable to take advantage of winds, if such should be desired. The natural scale armour of the Saurian will provide it with 2 AP on every location. Saurian Basic Profile
