SAFERIB – INFN/LNL Radioactive Ion Beam facilities have different characteristics and requisites than Neutron Spallation Sources facilities Present RIB facilities runs with few ten’s of kW (TRIUMF 50 kW) Future RIB facilities (SPIRAL-2, MAFF, SPES, EURISOL,…) will range 20 kW

Contamination is a very serious problem. Removal of targets has to be done in a sealed environment (remotly handled) Preliminary consideration: a remote handling system close to the SNS solution (2 MW) which integrate the RIB production target and ion source.
