Experience Management of a research team(École Centrale de Nantes) To define a long term research strategy and to promote it through industrial contracts Coordination and direction of a research team (10 researchers, 1 technician) in the field of machining technology : 6 papers from 1991 to 1995, the “scientific production” increased to 30 papers from 1996 to 2000. Funding of the research activities by the achievement and the canvassing and of industrial contracts (France and foreign countries) : 100,000 to 150,000 Euro per year during 10 years. Examples of contractual achievements : Flank milling of titanium blades, 5 times productivity increase (SNECMA), High speed turning of stainless steels, 2 times increase (UGINE), high speed tapping, 3 times increase (ARMOR)

Project management Two Nationally funded large programs on High Speed Machining, Task responsible in the first one (1992-1995), technical drafting and monitoring of the 2nd one: 11 companies, 11.4 MEuros, 1998 2001. Task leader in the EC funded Program (MACTEST), 1997 - 2000 1 ATOUT-DROP1 program 2000 - 2001

Communications To promote the team at an international level Originator and organizing of 2 internatinal conferences, in Nantes in 1999, La Baule in 2000 : 150 participants, 17 countries, 80 papers. Design and organizing of training courses for engineers and technicians: UGINE SAVOIE, ADEPA, ATLANTECH Editor of « Modeling of Machining Operations », HERMES editions, 2001, Author of the chapter « Modélisation de l’Usinage » of HERMES IC2 treatise on La simulation en mécanique, to be published (end of 2001) 1 nationally
