April 2007 - Update Dear Friend, Last fiscal year, $210,676 was raised and $206,270 allocated to 14 institutions. So far this year1, $165,200 was raised and $167,705 allocated to 10 institutions as follows: ¾
Maison de Notre Dame: $10,000 for various improvements in the orphanage (study rooms)

M. Khaled:
$14,040 for a Reverse Osmosis plant (water filtering for drinking). $3,860 was allocated for this project in 05-06 (total cost $17,900).

AFEL:
$44,500 as follows: $23,300 to fund the “Juvenile Delinquency Prevention” program, $7,500 for the “Medical Emergency Fund” and $13,700 in response to AFEL’s appeal during the war in July
¾
Dar al Yateem al Arabi: $13,517 to rehabilitate the sanitary used by the 292 children.

Sayda Zeinab:

Beit al-Yateem al Durzi: $15,645 for 100 beds, mattresses and pupils tables to equip a new wing of the (Aley) orphanage. $6,000 was allocated for that project in 05-06 (total cost $21,645).

Jamiaat Al-Ataa:
$4,800 to settle the annual rent

Dar Al Hassad:
(Marjeyoun)
$15,000 commitment to settle the private school fees for 25 children at two private schools
Jabboule:
$22,000 for a new 14 seat Minivan to be used for the children commute.
Mosan:
$17,403 for the set up of the playground for the 112 children with mental disabilities. $9,000 was allocated for this project in 05-06 (total cost $26,403).

In 2001, Child of Lebanon was granted the status of "Charitable Trust" in the UK, allowing donations from UK tax based residents and companies to be tax deductible. In 2003, CAFAmerica, a US charity screening agency, has allowed donations to Child of Lebanon to be tax deductible in the US. You are informed on a monthly basis by e-mail about the status of donations and will receive a 3rd and final update in July and the annual report in October 2007. Please let us know if you have not received the 2005-2006 annual report and wish us to provide you with a copy.
For those who wish to make a donation, kindly note that Child of Lebanon’s fiscal year ends in June 30, 2007. 1
July 1, 2006 to March 31, 2007 “The Global Fund for Children”, a Washington based charity, contributed $11,000 for the AFEL Program and $2,500 to their July appeal. Libertas Capital funded the Reverse Osmosis plant at M. Khaled and ICAP plc the playground at Mosan.
