1934 Aston Martin MKII Sports Saloon restoration project Last used on the road in 1968, this car has been subject to a very high quality restoration during the past 20 years. This car has been known by the owner since 1962, and up to then was only ever serviced by Aston Martin and Friary Motors. It is therefore known to be very original and the present owner confirmed that the body had never been off the chassis before he took it off for the present restoration. The quality of the work so far is superb, with all the chassis and running gear powder coated and the chrome work replated to the very highest standards, much of it done in the USA. The engine was rebuilt by Bill Elwell-Smith in the 1970's and has yet to be run. The body has been very well restored and is fitted and ready for paint. There is leather for the upholstery and with all parts included (yet to be verified) to complete the rebuild, this should be a relatively straight forward job that a reasonable talented enthusiast should be able to complete! The MKII Sports Saloon is now a very rare car with few surviving. Clearly this example, when completed, would be able to claim to be the best example in the world.
