Picture(s) (description & meaning) Description : (1) What are you looking at ? On the right, we can see a surveillance camera (cctv camera) fixed on a wall. And on the left, on the same wall, there is a catch sentence ‘’What are you looking at ?’’ The camera seems to be filming the sentence. (2) Cartoon flowchart: This cartoon is a caricature of a real flowchart. It describes the diagnostic process if machines took care of patients instead of human doctors and nurses. There are only two possible endings: either discharge patient or perform autopsy. Meaning: (1) What are you looking at ? In a police state, there is an over surveillance of the population. This surveillance is so important that the government will end to control nothing. (2)It criticizes the fact that machines could replace humans in some jobs, especially in medical field. Machines can only apply algorithms while sometimes a moral sense is needed.
