For every single emergency lighting project the appropriate central monitoring station

Archives 1

Statutory regulations stipulate the regular check of emergency systems such as emergency lighting systems. Depending on the size of the emergency lighting plant, it is useful to provide for a central automatic monitoring station. Regardless of whether self-contained luminaires or battery-supported systems are installed, CEAG offers the appropriate monitoring concept for each emergency lighting project. Office 3

A trouble-free operating system is the prerequisite for the central monitoring of a emergency lighting system. Environmental influences such as varying ambient temperatures or continuously changing power consumption values of the individual luminaires after a prolonged operation must not affect the reliability of the central monitoring station. The CEWA GUARD monitoring concept focuses on the operativeness of each emergency luminaire. The individual monitoring.

All functions of the luminaire are automatically monitored and controlled by a microcontroller. The prescribed tests such as the function test which is to ensure the emergency lighting function of the luminaires, or the duration test which checks the battery capacity, are performed fully automatically. The test results are clearly visible on the cen-tral monitoring station. Thus, the user saves the time-consuming, manual check of the luminaires and emergency lighting systems.

Easy handling and safety due to the individual function monitoring and software options The CGP monitoring and programming equipment indicates any function or failure of the whole emergency lighting system reliably and in an easily understandable manner. The localization of a defective luminaire is explained in detail in the following pages. In addition, the functions of the charging unit can be inquired. A timer function is available as software option which efficiently adds to saving energy costs and thus to improving the environment.

The CGP works with state-of-the art visualisation software.

Thus, an elaborate manual troubleshooting and checking of each individual luminaire belong to the past. All system-related data will be stored for a period of two years. CGP Software Options

Fax operation and modem connection For emergency lighting systems with CGP, CEAG also offers the installation of a modem. Making use of the telephone network, it is thereby possible to directly communicate with the emergency lighting systems via the CGP. The tests automatically performed by the CGP will be pulled. The resulting service and maintenance can be performed quickly and at low cost. That requires a Windows operated standard PC in conjunction with a commercial type modem and the CEAG PC-CGP software. It is also possible to easily transmit the data to a telefax set. The following criteria as to when a message is to be transmitted to an optional telefax set, have to be determined by you: – only in the event of a failure – the current system status automatically 1 to 2 times per day or per week Thus, the user is in full control of the whole emergency lighting system at all times.

Building layout

BMS connection

Beside the written documentation of the location of covers and luminaire circuits there is also the possibility to program building layouts in the CGP. CEAG software engineers program customer-specified layout plans so that beside the written documentation on the location also the graphic documentation (layout plan in which the luminaire circuit is arranged) can be activated by the push of a button. That is of particular importance for widely spaced blocks of buildings.

Where required, the emergency lighting system can be connected to a central building management system (BMS) via a 24 V interface integrated into the CGP. CEAG provides the respective description of the available data records as option for the BMS programming. From the BMS the following commands can be transmitted to the emergency lighting systems: Function test: On/Off Duration test: On/Off The emergency lighting systems will provide the following feedbacks: Function test: On/Off Duration test: On/Off Mains/battery operation Emergency light/charge failure Deep discharge protection and failure indication for each luminaire, including documentation of the location.

Timer software

ZB 96

Low energy and maintenance cost are decisive criteria for the selection also with regard to emergency lighting. By means of the timer software considerable savings in energy and maintenance cost can be achieved, since each maintained light circuit can be freely programmed to be switched on and off by hours or days. In a mains fail condition, however, the emergency light will override and not be impaired by the timer function. The timer function requires no additional installation! The timer function considerably contributes to environmental protection, since less energy and illuminants are consumed. Systme O.K.

CEWA GUARD Monitoring and Programming Facility

The central monitoring Each emergency luminaire is important! It pro-tects life and health. Should the general lighting fail, only a emergency lighting system that is fully operational, will provide optimum protection. Depending on the nature of the premises, e. g. staircases without natural light, the accident risk is very high, when only one emergency luminaire fails. For that reason, a continual check of the emergency lighting systems is legally specified. By means of the CEWA GUARD monitoring and programming facility, the user can easily pull menu-driven all system information and program functions. That is possible due to the CGP monitoring and programming facility. Of ergonomic and space saving design, the monitor and keyboard are integrated into the central unit. In addition, the CGP automatically performs also the specified daily check of the emergency lighting's operativeness. Malfunctions of the luminaires are displayed on the monitor, including the indication of the exact location. Thereby, fault tracing and elimination are considerably simplified. That saves time and money!
