Advantages Group Battery System CG 2000

The main advantages of the CG 2000 group battery system become particularly apparent when, for fire protection reasons, the emergency lighting system has to be installed in sectors. Due to the freely programmable switching modes of the luminaires, the number of outgoing circuits is reduced. The compact design of the apparatus facilitates installation, even if the space conditions are unfavourable. The apparatus has been conceived in such a way that almost all luminaires for the general lighting system can be integrated into the emergency lighting system. This allows maximum safety without interfering with the overall engineering concept. The CEWA GUARD individual monitoring functions checks all the functions of the connected apparatus and emergency luminaires fully automatically, thus ensuring the reliable operation of the emergency lighting system at all times. The picture of an efficient and low-cost emergency lighting system is rounded off by central monitoring facilities which, depending on their engineering, can monitor up to 256 group supply systems.

Switching in the outgoing circuit The CG 2000 allows all types of switching modes (non-maintained, maintained, switched maintained lighting) in one outgoing circuit within a 50 Hz mains supply! Therefore, any combination of rooms and escape routes can be equipped with emergency and emergency lighting luminaires with two outgoing circuits, without additional data line.

Advantages Group Battery System CG 2000

High degree of safety due to decentralized arrangement Group supply systems are designed in such a way that they accommodate all the components required for the emergency lighting supply and monitoring. Their compact design allows easy installation, even if the installation conditions are unfavourable. This means that taking fire zones into consideration during installation does not pose any problems. The systems are available with different dimensions and equipment and provide an optimum solution for every application.

General and emergency lighting – in harmony with each other The group battery system CG 2000 is a suitable supply unit for a large number of illuminants available on the market, so that general and emergency lighting form a homogeneous whole. The high degree of operational reliability of the systems is the result of many years of experience in the supply of luminaires with electronic ballasts and incandescent lamps.

Group supply systems with automatic function monitoring

CG 200 Plus

The microcontroller monitors the functions of the connected emergency luminaires. This can be in the form of both circuit moni-toring or the monitoring of individual luminaires. The test cycles prescribed by law for function and battery tests are performed fully automatically by the CG 2000. The test results can easily be read on the display of the cover. The former, extremely time-consuming and, as a result, costly manual checks of the emergency luminaires are no longer necessary. In addition to this, the use of a central monitoring station ensures that, even in the case of projects with a large number of emergency luminaires, the installations are still under control. The CG controller or the CGP monitoring and programming facility are available as central monitoring facilities. These monitor the complete installation down to the last luminaires.

When a conventional lead-acid battery with free electrolyte is overcharged, the water is broken down electrolytically into oxygen on the positive plate and hydrogen on the negative plate. To prevent the battery from drying out, this water must be replaced at regular intervals.

The extremely low gassing absorption cells are designed in such a way that the positive plate is fully charged before the negative plate and, as a result, the oxygen released diffuses to the negative plate. Here it reacts with the lead and is converted into lead oxide which then reacts with the sulphuric acid electrolyte to form lead sulphate and water, whereby a loss of water is prevented completely.

Terminals up to 2 x 4 mm2 on DIN rail are provided for the connection of emergency luminaires. A neutral conductor disconnect terminal is not required, as an automatic insulation fault detection indicates the affected circuit.

Battery compartment The battery compartment is shielded from the electronics compartment. It is designed to accommodate maintenance-free, completely sealed lead batteries with a capacity of 24 Ah (CG 100) or 24 Ah to 55 Ah (CG 200).

Ventilation slots in the front door cover ensure sufficient air circulation in the battery compartment. The batteries feature earth leakage and short-circuit proof connections.
