Case study: LKAB (mining company, Kiruna)  Use of powerful electric motors to drive conveyor belts in its dressing plant  Measurements of operational energy requirements  Power consumption = 370 kW  Installed capacity = 900 kW (two motors at 450 kW)

 Removal of one motor with its transmission (8 conveyors)  Benefits

 Reduced energy costs by 105,000 euros per year  Reduced maintenance costs  Pay-off time: 0.3 year 11
