Testimonial #2 I am writing to you on behalf of a small Volunteer Fire Department in Pennsylvania. Through our efforts, we have been partially funded towards a Mobile Data Terminal through an Insurance Company Grant program. The intention of the Durabook will be to add it to the new Engine we are currently having built for use with Pre-Plans, Hydrant mapping, GPS directions, and emergency databases. While it is easy to think that since we are currently building a new engine, we are not hurting for money. However, the ONLY means by which we are able to improve our operations is through grant programs, and Corporate generosity. The cost of the engine (which replaces a 38 year old model) was done through a Department of Homeland Security grant program. There are many haves and have not departments in the United States and we definitely qualify as a have not. We have a very limited revenue stream due to our City demographics, a elderly population, and little supporting industry. We try to do the best we can with what we generate. It is our intention to move forward with the purchase of a Durabook laptop for use in the engine for the referenced purposes and I would like to see if your Corporation were able to offer any assistance with the purchase price of one of the units. I have one of our members who is an IT Manager reviewing the information in advance of receiving our funds to determine which unit best suits our purpose. For any consideration of assistance, I would offer back professional quality photos for use in advertising of yet another potential application for your Durabook. I will commit to you that either way you will be receiving the order, I am simply asking for your consideration to assist a "have not" fire department who has the desire to embrace technology, but simply not the means.
