The Student Trainee Exchange Programme (STEP) CMS_LawTax_CMYK_over100.eps

The Student Trainee Exchange Programme enables law students and young lawyers to gain first-hand experience of the substantive and procedural law as well as the culture of another country. The traineeships are between 2 weeks and 18 months and can take place in any law related area: law firms, courts, public institutions, universities, banks, in-house legal departments, consulting firms and international organisations. Each year ELSA offers several traineeship opportunities all over Europe and occasionally in other parts of the world. Before and during the traineeship, ELSA provides assistance in finding accommodation, applying for visas when necessary, and organising social events to involve the trainee in the daily life of the local community.

Working in this environment has given me an idea of the issues which effect the legal profession, rather than just the clients. The personal contacts I gained during have been crucial for the development of my professional career. Student Experience

ELSA group hosts reception for you

Ludik Malý Udvaros, Slovakia Our Law firm has been cooperating with the ELSA Slovakia for several years. STEP is an ideal way of getting knowledge of practice for students, young lawyers as well as employers. STEP is the bridge between students and professionals. The students who participate in this Programme will gain new knowledge, experience, and chance to travel abroad, make new friends and experience different cultures. I consider the STEP to be a successful form of supporting students because they get a chance to extend their professional knowledge, their communication skills. Such an experience is one small step for a student on the way to his professional life.
