Kenya – training nutrition trainers of trainers Kenya’s SUN CSA conducted the first Nutrition Advocacy Training for Trainers of Trainers in October for 27 senior nutrition and communication officers from CSA member organisations and officers of the Ministry of Health (MoH). Lao PDR – has published a new report on Women’s Empowerment for Improved Community Nutrition. SUN GLOBAL GATHERING 2015 & SUN CSN ANNUAL Strong civil society presence at Sun Global Gathering 2015 Over 500 participants from 55 SUN countries took part in the SUN Global Gathering 2015 in Milan in October – with the strongest ever showing from civil society. Also represented at the three day event were governments, business, academia, UN agencies, nutrition experts, donors and two states of India among the other stakeholders. Of 37 countries with established Civil Society Alliances (CSAs), 31 countries sent representatives to Milan (up nearly 16% from SUNGG 2014). Overall, more than 90 of the participants were from civil society and academia. The dialogue on civil society’s role within the SUN Movement was notably different at SUN GG 2015. Where two years ago the debate was about whether civil society should be at the table, this year the sessions in Milan made it clear that civil society is now seen as a key actor and ally – best placed to implement many nutrition efforts, to ensure that nutrition is prioritised and to make a difference to the most vulnerable and hardest to reach. The focus of SUN GG 215 was to celebrate progress in scaling up nutrition and plan the way forward in the new SUN 2.0 strategy and roadmap for 2016 to 2020. Four groups are now in the process of being established: West Africa (with some francophone African colleagues from East / Southern Africa), East and Southern Africa, Latin America and Asia. The groups discussed different models for regional networks – with all wanting to gain from greater regional coordination without adding to workload or bureaucracy.

A SUN CSN Operational Oversight Committee (OOS) has been established to oversee the day to day management of the SUN CSN’s operations. RASSEMBLEMENT GLOBAL DU MOUVEMENT SUN 2015 Forte présence de la société civile au Rassemblement global du Mouvement SUN 2015 Plus de 500 participants de 55 pays SUN ont pris part au Rassemblement global du Mouvement SUN 2015 à Milan en octobre – la plus forte participation de la société civile à ce jour. Des représentants de gouvernements, du milieu des affaires, du milieu universitaire et d'organisations des Nations Unies, des experts en nutrition et des donateurs ont assisté à cet événement de trois jours, ainsi que des représentants de deux États de l'Inde parmi les autres parties prenantes. Sur 37 pays ayant des alliances de la société civile (ASC) établies, 31 ont envoyé des représentants à Milan (une hausse de près de 16 % par rapport au Rassemblement global du Mouvement SUN de 2014). Globalement, plus de 90 participants représentaient la société civile et le milieu universitaire. Le dialogue sur le rôle de la société civile au sein du Mouvement SUN était cette année sensiblement différent. Alors qu'il y a deux ans, la question était de savoir si la société civile devait être à la table des discussions, cette année il était très clair, pendant les sessions à Milan, que la société civile était à présent un acteur clé et un allié, en position idéale pour mettre en œuvre de nombreuses initiatives sur la nutrition, pour veiller à ce que la nutrition soit placée au rang des priorités et pour changer la situation des personnes les plus vulnérables et les plus difficiles à atteindre. L'objectif du Rassemblement global du Mouvement SUN 2015 était de célébrer les progrès réalisés en matière de renforcement de la nutrition et de planifier l'avenir dans la nouvelle stratégie SUN 2.0 et la feuille de route pour 2016 à 2020.

Réunion annuelle du RSC SUN lors du Rassemblement global du Mouvement SUN 2015 La réunion annuelle du RSC SUN a eu lieu à Milan, lors du Rassemblement global du Mouvement SUN, le mardi 20 octobre. Quelque 80 participants étaient présents, et sept y ont assisté en direct par WebEx. Sur les 37 pays ayant des Alliances de la société civile (ASC), 31 avaient envoyé des représentants à la réunion annuelle. La réunion a bénéficié d'un haut niveau d'engagement et de discussions dynamiques. Le principal objectif de la réunion était d'entamer les discussions sur le meilleur moyen, pour la société civile, de contribuer à SUN 2.0. Groupes régionaux du RSC SUN en cours d'établissement Des groupes régionaux de représentants des ASC se sont réunis pendant les trois jours du Rassemblement global du Mouvement SUN 2015 pour discuter de la création de sous-réseaux régionaux formels. Dans l'ensemble, le consensus était que des groupes régionaux formalisés apporteraient une très forte valeur ajoutée. Ils permettraient le développement de l'apprentissage mutuel et un plaidoyer régional coordonné, tout en s'alignant aux priorités stratégiques du Mouvement SUN et en s'adaptant au contexte régional. Quatre groupes sont en cours d'établissement : Afrique occidentale (avec des collègues africains francophones d'Afrique orientale / australe), Afrique orientale et australe, Amérique latine et Asie. Les groupes ont étudié différents modèles de réseaux régionaux - tous souhaitaient bénéficier d'une plus grande coordination régionale sans accroître la charge de travail ou la bureaucratie.
3. ACTUALITÉS DU RSC SUN Formation d'un sous-comité universitaire du RSC SUN Veuillez désigner un point focal universitaire dans votre ASC. Le RSC SUN a mis à jour ses structures de gouvernance, comme suit : Les membres du groupe de pilotage du RSC SUN ont changé suite à un processus de nomination ouverte. Un groupe de travail du RSC SUN sur la stratégie et la durabilité (SSTF) du RSC SUN a été établi pour soutenir la coordination de la contribution de la société civile à l'élaboration et à la mise en œuvre ultérieure de la stratégie du Mouvement SUN (2016-2020).

C'est un guide pratique sur la façon de démarrer et de développer des campagnes de plaidoyer et de communication, qui contient des liens vers des ressources clés et 13 études de cas de la société civile des pays SUN. En partageant les enseignements disponibles dans le réseau, les alliances de la société civile (ASC) et les organisations de la société civile (OSC) de différents pays en bénéficieront et seront mieux à même de tenir les décideurs, les ministères et d'autres acteurs responsables de leurs actes.

CONFÉRENCE SUR LE CLIMAT PARIS 2015 – AGISSEZ La conférence sur les changements climatiques à Paris est l'opportunité de mettre la nutrition dans la course La conférence sur les changements climatiques organisée par les Nations Unies en 2015 qui a lieu en ce moment à Paris est une excellente opportunité d'associer le programme climatique au programme contre la faim. Les négociations internationales peuvent placer la lutte contre les impacts des changements climatiques et la lutte contre la faim dans le monde dans le même cadre pour le changement. Se trata de una guía práctica sobre cómo iniciar y llevar a cabo campañas de promoción y comunicación, con enlaces a recursos clave y 13 estudios de caso de la sociedad civil en países miembros de SUN. Próximamente también se publicará un trabajo de reflexión sobre la rendición de cuentas de la RSC de SUN. Esta publicación refleja el nivel de conocimientos y desarrollo alcanzado por las iniciativas de la sociedad civil dirigidas a mejorar la rendición de cuentas en el marco de los esfuerzos de los países para fomentar la nutrición. Este documento se dirige principalmente a los miembros de la sociedad civil, e incluye artículos de análisis junto con estudios de caso. Se trata de un recurso práctico cuyo fin es informar e inspirar a la sociedad civil, y, además, ofrecer ejemplos de enfoques que funcionan. La sociedad civil desempeña un papel crucial en la tarea de asegurar la rendición de cuentas en el marco de los esfuerzos para fomentar la nutrición. Además, la rendición de cuentas recibe una atención especial en la estrategia de SUN para el período 2016-2020.
