ROYAL TRAIL (Maroc) II
Our second Moroccan Royal Trail promises to be as intense, as changing, as great as our first Trail. In short, don’t miss our second trail. TRIP AND PACE The Royal Trail treck is above all a touristic trek with no place for competition. Every motorbike will run at its own pace. Motorbikes and sidecars are admitted. The day distances, mainly on the roads, varied between 200 and 420 kms. The route goes through the most spectacular regions of Morocco. To join in the trek, you may choose between several options. DATES From 2007 March the 4th to March the 20th . Meeting at the Sete resort on March 4th, at 3 pm and arrival in Tangier two days later around 10 am. The crossing lasts 38 hours. You will be accommodated in 4 person cabins (or in other cabin if you wish to). Meals are included. Back in Tangier March 16th at 8 pm. Arrival in Sete harbour on 18th around 10 am.
ITINARY During this trek of about 2900 kms, you’ll discover the most beautiful areas of Morocco. The imperial cities: Mekhnès, Marrakech, Fez The Rif valley and Chefchaouen The Ziz canyons, the Dades and Toddra valleys Ouarzazate and Aït Ben Addhou, Unesco World Heritage Site Merzouga and sand dunes Essaouira and the coastal road of the Atlantic ocean
MOTORBIKES’ SET UP All motorbikes should be in working order and mechanically fit for the raid. COMPULSORY EQUIPMENT: 2 instant puncture sealants an IGM or Michelin map of Morocco a pen-knife such as an Opinel an epoxy paste glue 2 X 5 m of nylon cord head light, if possible winking, with LED and 2 sets of batteries eyeglasses protecting from sandstorm a pair of light leather gloves a personal first-aid kit a rubber repair patch + glue 2 new inner wheel tubes
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: 2 tyre levers a Leatherman knife 3 cyanolite glues in sachets Quick effect Araldite glue 3 metres of iron wire 1 and 2 mm large American types of narrow and large adhesive tape 4 fire-strainers 2 packs of baby wipes sunglasses
The motorbikes should have fuel for a range of 270 kilometres. THE RAID At the beginning of the trip, the participants receive a road book. On the evenings, you’ll be explained the route for the following day. You’ll be free to go at your own pace during the trip.
Breakfasts and dinners are provided. For the lunches at own charge, allow 5 to 10 euros per meal. During the journey, you may stop in local inns serving North African stews and kebabs.
SUPERVISION MECHANICAL AID: a truck with a trailer, driven by a mechanic, follows the trek. Spare parts and all necessary sets of tools will be available. In case of serious breakdown, the organization takes charge of it and route it to the nearest large city. The routing to the boat is at your expense. A car opens up the track. We take on the bikers’ luggage and the extra luggage of the side cars. You can also choose to: 1 During the all trip, to accompany the group by car with a member of the organization 2 Follow the trip with a rented motorbike (125 MZ). 4 and ½ days are scheduled (or even more if you wish to). 3 Fly to Tangier to join the group. ACCOMODATION A selection of 3 and 4 stars charming hotels. You’ll be accommodated in double rooms and half-board. A bivouac is organized in sand dunes, sleeping under Berber tents fully equipped with blankets, sheets…

Subscription Terms
Due to boat reservation, inscriptions will be closed on December 20th of 2006. Terms of cancellation - 60 days before departure: full reimbursement of the deposit: - but 150 € of file fees will be retained - 45 days before departure: 25 % of the total package will be deducted - 30 days before departure: 50 % of the total package will be deducted - 15 days before departure: 75 % of the total package will be deducted - 10 days before departure: no reimbursement will be made
