 1 - Given the representation a graph (f(x)), students will identify the a, h and k variables in the expression af(x-h)+k for a variety of tranfermations. 
 2 - Students will prove a variety of trigonometric identities using basic trigonometric relationship with clarity and detail.
 3 - Students will be able to calculate the difference quotient for a quadratic function and simplify it.

Homework: Homework will be assigned in the classroom and will not be collected. Students can receive extra credit if submit all homework at the end of the semester. Exams: There will be two Exams given during the lecture on certain days (announced in class, only basic calculators). Final Exam: The final examination will be held at the last class (only basic calculators). Grading: Your course grade will be determined by your cumulative average at the end of the term and will be based on the following scale: A (above 90%), B (above 80%), C (above 60%) Note: Instructor may adjust the scale based on his class' cumulative averages.

Your cumulative average will be the best of the following weighted averages: 20% (Attendance), 40% (Exams), 40% (Final Exam). NO "D" NOR “I” WILL BE GIVEN. Attendance: If you miss the class more than three times you will be dropped from the class! Academic Dishonesty: Academic dishonesty is considered a serious offense at Mesa College. Students caught cheating will face an administrative sanction which may include suspension or expulsion from the college. Reading: Reading the sections of the textbook corresponding to the assigned homework exercises is considered part of the homework assignment; you are responsible for material in the assigned reading whether or not it is discussed in the lecture. It will be expected that you read the assignment material in advance of each lecture. Calculators: Basic calculator use will be permitted on exams. Graphing calculators (such as the TI-86 or TI-89) may prove useful in checking solutions to some of the homework problems, but they are not required for the course.
