Math 151, FALL 16 CALCULUS II Course Syllabus CRN 81252, Class: MS 120, MW 2:05 PM - 4:05 PM Contact Information: Name: Moe Ebrahimi Email: [email protected] Office: MS 215-U Office Hours: Monday 12:30 PM - 2:05 PM Tuesday 12:10 PM - 12:45 PM Wednesday 12:30 PM - 2:05 PM Thursday 12:10 PM - 12:45 PM Textbook: Single Variable Calculus, 8th edition, by Stewart Student Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of the course the student will be able to: 
 1 - Students will show the relationship between a function and it’s infinite series.
 2 - Students will use appropriate methods to calculate integrals.
 3 - Students set up and evaluate an integral to find the area enclosed by a polar graph. (The graph will be sketched for them).

Homework: Homework will be assigned in the classroom and will not be collected. Students can receive extra credit if submit all homework at the end of the semester. Exams: There will be two Exams given during the lecture on certain days (announced in class, only basic calculators). Final Exam: The final examination will be held at the last class (only basic calculators). Grading: Your course grade will be determined by your cumulative average at the end of the term and will be based on the following scale: A (above 90%), B (above 80%), C (above 60%) Note: Instructor may adjust the scale based on his class' cumulative averages. Your cumulative average will be the best of the following weighted averages: 20% (Attendance), 40% (Exams), 40% (Final Exam). NO "D" NOR “I” WILL BE GIVEN.

Attendance: If you miss the class more than three times you will be dropped from the class! Academic Dishonesty: Academic dishonesty is considered a serious offense at Mesa College. Students caught cheating will face an administrative sanction which may include suspension or expulsion from the college. Reading: Reading the sections of the textbook corresponding to the assigned homework exercises is considered part of the homework assignment; you are responsible for material in the assigned reading whether or not it is discussed in the lecture. It will be expected that you read the assignment material in advance of each lecture. Calculators: Basic calculator use will be permitted on exams. Graphing calculators (such as the TI-86 or TI-89) may prove useful in checking solutions to some of the homework problems, but they are not required for the course.
