Les Saguenéens de Chicoutimi: 1974-75 à 1977-78. Les Castors de Sherbrooke: 1977-1978. En octobre 1977, il a été échangé aux Castors de Sherbrooke par les Saguenéens de Chicoutimi, en retour de cinq joueurs: Burton Martin, Michel Brisebois, Larry Mensour, François Gravel et Michel Champigny, en octobre 1977. En 1975-1976, il a remporté le trophée Jean-Béliveau (champion marqueur), en compagnie de Richard Dalpé des Draveurs de Trois-Rivières, les deux ayant totalisé 160 points. Au cours de cette saison, il a dominé la LHJMQ avec 80 buts.
Né à Chicoutimi (Québec) le 17 février 1958. Centre, lance de la gauche. 5’10”, 174 lbs (79 kilos).
Il fut nommé sur la première équipe d’étoiles au poste de centre en 1975-1976 et sur la deuxième équipe en 1976-1977.
Huitième choix des Red Wings de Detroit, 95e à la séance de sélection de 1978. Fils de l’ancien joueur du Canadian, Jacques Locas Senior et frère de Jacques Locas Junior.

Le 26 février 1978, il connaît une autre superbe partie, marquant 6 buts et totalisant 8 points dans un gain de 12-9 des Castors de Sherbrooke face aux Saguenéens de Chicoutimi qui l’avaient échangé en début de saison.

In 1975-1976, he won the Jean Béliveau Trophy (best scorer), along with Richard Dalpé of the Trois-Rivières Draveurs. The two players earned a total of 160 points. He was named to the first all-star team, as centre, in 1975-1976 and to the second team in 1976-1977. In 1975-1976, he led the QMJHL with 80 goals. In 1976-1977, he made the most assists (98) in the league. With 254 goals, he is sixth in the history of the QMJHL and eighth in the Canadian junior league. His total of 545 points is seventh in the history of the QMJHL and ninth in Canadian junior hockey. Outstanding game: On February 17, 1976 (his 18th birthday), he played the game of his life at the Centre Georges Vézina, scoring seven goals and earning eight points in a 9-9 tie game against goaltender Claude Legris and the Sorel Éperviers. On February 26, 1978, he played another superb game, scoring six goals and earning a total of 8 points while helping the Sherbrooke Castors beat the team which had traded him at the beginning of the season, the Chicoutimi Saguenéens, 12-9.
