The French Institute for Health Ressearch INSERM organizes a W orkshop on human an pluripotent stem cells on the French Riviera open to o all research staff (Investigators, PhD students, Postdocs...). P This is a unique opportunity to meet outstan tanding international experts in the field of human an pluripotent p cells in a small group setting. Human Embryonic Stem Cell Core Facility, Villejuif, France and MRC Centre for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine (Cambridge, UK)

PROGRAM 1. Derivation of human iPSCs (Retroviral transduction (theorical), splitting and amplification). 2. Methods of characterization of human iPSCs (Immunofluorescence, FACS analysis, mRNA transgene quantification, expression of endogenous /exogenous transcripts, in vitro and in vivo differentiation). 3. Methods of iPSCs culture on feeders and defined medium.

SELECTION 5 participants will be selected for further practical training among the phase I participants by at least three criteria: feasibility and advancement of the project, rationale for using iPSCs in the project, synergistic collaboration with the existed iPSCs core facilities.
