Configuration with several Call Servers If Free Desktop users are authorized to move on several nodes: - Alcatel-Lucent strongly recommends having the same release and patching on each node - The inter-system diffusion mechanism must be activated - The dialling plan must be homogenous between the different nodes - The definition of Classes of Services, entities and discrimination must be compatible/homogeneous on each node - When users change node, their taxation tickets are generated and allocated to this new reporting node

Interaction with other Features Functional incompatibilities This mobility feature is not provided for: - Sets which belong to a call centre group - Sets using additional key modules (except for key modules detailed: § Alcatel–Lucent 8&9 Series Sets and Additional Key Modules) - Sets which belong to a group of sets (available when user moves within the same Call Server) - Sets using a data , analog or S0 interface - Analog, DECT/PWT, Wifi or SIP sets - Sets using the twin-set feature (available when user moves within the same Call Server) - Sets configured on forwarding at night or general ringing - Sets which belong to an MLA (MultiLine Appearance) group Free Desktop users cannot monitor other sets, or use or be used by applications based on CSTA, CTI and SIP protocols.

3.5.2

Alcatel–Lucent 8&9 Series Sets and Additional Key Modules On 8&9 series sets, namely: 4028, 4029, 4038, 4039, 4068 and IP Desktop Softphone, four types of additional key module(s) can be connected. The available additional key modules are: - Additional module with 10 keys - Additional module with 20 keys - Additional module with 40 keys - Smart Display additional module with 14 keys The Smart Display additional module with 14 keys is not compatible with Free Desktop. With the 3 other additional modules, a Free Desktop user can log on another phone set but: - If the target phone set is equipped with an identical additional module, the user can use the target phone set as his/her own set - If the target phone set is not equipped with an additional module or if this additional module is different, additional keys are not available - When users log on their own phone set, they retrieve the use of their module additional keys

4.1 Characteristics 4.1.1

Hardware aspects

The Standard Free Desktop Environment components (Free Desktop Web Service, IP Touch Mobility Solutions and Web Based Solution) are installed on the same server. It is not necessary to have a specific server for Standard Free Desktop Environment, but it must respect some restrictions. Please, see the restriction part of each service. Call server is an OXE in release 8.0. or 9.0 In a multi call servers’ configuration, the call servers must be in the same ABC sub-network. Free Desktop Server can run on server with minimum: -

2 Ghz processor

-

2Go RAM

-

1 Go free on disk

-

a network connection 10/100Mbits mini.

4.1.2

Software Hardware aspects

To run, Free Desktop Environment required: -

Java Development Kit 1.5

-

Apache Tomcat 5.0.28

-

Alcatel XML API 5.1 or Unified Communication 5.1

-

Omni PCX Enterprise 8.0 or higher

4.2 Interactions 4.2.1 Interactions with other features The extensions must be managed by an INTIPA fictive card. The broadcast must be enabled even if there is only one node. The Free Desktop users can not be monitored, uses or be used by applications based on CSTA, CTI and SIP protocols. Warning: Do not forget that when a Free Desktop user is logged off, his phone set is viewed as “Out of service” (of course his calls are forwarded to the number programmed.) Page 9

Free Desktop release 3 is now design to support Unified Communication applications: My Phone, My Assistant and My Messaging, with restrictions (See Chapter General feature, 4.2.3). 4.2.1.1 Call server duplication Not applicable yet. 4.2.1.2

User services

4.2.1.2.1 Specific features 4.2.1.2.1.1 Multiline sets A delay to retrieve his keys can be observed, due to the broadcast mechanisms. 4.2.1.2.1.2 Manager/Assistant set This feature is available due to a local configuration and should not be transferred when a user move to another OXE. A delay to retrieve his keys back can be observed, due to the broadcast mechanisms. 4.2.1.2.1.3 Supervision The feature is not compatible with all sets configured for Free Desktop v3. 4.2.1.2.1.4 Alcatel Multi-line Appearance (A-MLA) Not compatible. 4.2.1.2.1.5 Twin sets The twin sets must be in the same node. The main and the secondary sets can move in the same node. 4.2.1.2.2 Miscellaneous features 4.2.1.2.2.1 Appointment reminder The appointment and wake-up are lost when the user changes of node. They are not retrieved at back. 4.2.1.2.2.2 Automatic callback (local, ABC, ISDN) The automatic callback request is lost when a user change of node. 4.2.1.2.2.3 Connections rights Rights must be the same on each node. Else, a move of a user to another node will imply the copy of the connections rights of the initial node to the target node. 4.2.1.2.2.4 Date and time display format This feature depends on each node’s configuration. Date and time display format can change if a user moves to another node with a different configuration. All Rights Reserved © Alcatel-Lucent 2008

Page 10

4.2.1.2.2.5 External caller name presentation A speed dialling number and an external callback table must be configured to be available. This last one is programmed on each node but is not diffused. 4.2.1.2.2.6 Hunt groups (voice, S0 data, S0 fax) Not available on network. The set is excluded from the group when it moves on another node. 4.2.1.2.2.7 Last internal caller callback Due to the definition of this feature, last caller must be on the user’s current node. The last internal caller is lost when the user changes of node. 4.2.1.2.2.8 Last number redial The last caller is lost when the user changes of node. He is not retrieved at back. 4.2.1.2.2.9 Lock – unlock No interaction with this feature. Moreover, when a set is locked, excepted when the mobility rights are only at “shared” or if it is a request of this owner, it is not possible to move it. 4.2.1.2.2.10 Personal directory When a user changes of set type, some programmable keys or directory keys are lost by the OXE. Free Desktop save the data that may be lost to restore them when the user will come back to his initial set. 4.2.1.2.2.11 Ringing The rings’ cadence and melody are configured on each node. So it may change for a user who changes of node. Otherwise, the call priority is configured for each user, so a user keeps this feature when he moves. 4.2.1.2.2.12 Secret code attempt control This is linked to node configuration. 4.2.1.2.2.13 Speed dialling It depends on node's configuration. 4.2.1.2.2.14 Unanswered calls The unanswered call is lost when we change of node but the feature is still available. 4.2.1.2.2.15 User move of set The feature is not compatible with all sets configured for Free Desktop v3. 4.2.1.3

OK: Fully compatible OK(1): In fact, Free Desktop 1.0 is based on ACAPI and uses API & UC only for their FlexLM Server and Presentation Server. OK(2): Nomadic functionality does not work when the user is logged off. Configure the protected and auto-log-on Free Desktop rights to the nomadic users to be sure they are always logged on a set. KO: Not compatible WR: With Restrictions. They are: WR(1): Nomadic functionality is not supported because the Free Desktop user can be logged off. WR(2): When a user activates My Assistant’s rules, he is Immediate Forwarded on a RSI point. Free Desktop clients applications (IP Touch and Web based) will modify the forward state the user will (be) move (d). The users have to manually redo their forward configuration after each move. WR(3): - After such a move, My Phone Web Services / My Phone application is not available for the user until he moves back on a PBX cover by his initial XML API / UC.

4.3 Engineering Rules The installation of the PBXs and all the subscribers’ configurations must be completed. The classes of service must be the same on each node.

All Rights Reserved © Alcatel-Lucent 2008

Page 13

The subscribers that will use the Free Desktop Environment must be on their initial location. (can be a set or a virtual set).

Do not interact with the phone set during the move! This may cause trouble to the set’s configuration.

4.4 Restrictions The number of simultaneous moves is limited by the number of simultaneous requests on XML API/UC and on OXE. The number of moves in a period depends on the performances of the XML API/UC and OXE.

4.5 Capacity Limits On each node, the number of users depends on the PBX restrictions and the number of substitution subscriber. Free Desktop has the same limits and restriction than the XML API Framework 5.1 or OmniTouch Unified Communication 5.1: - Up to 15 Call Server per OTUC / XML API - Up to 5 000 IP Touch users using the Presentation Server - Up to 10 000 using the Web Interface

4.5.1

Provisioning level

Free Desktop server supports: - Up to 10 XML API Framework or OmniTouch Unified Communication. - 50 000 (5000 x 10) users using IP Touch Free Desktop Interface in ABC network - 100 000 users using Web Based Free Desktop Interface in ABC network

4.6 Licenses Each Free Desktop Server 3.x required a FlexLM license: FREEDESKTOP version 1.0. Each Free Desktop User 3.x required a FlexLM license: FREEDESKTOPUSER version 1.0. IP Touch Mobile Solution required FlexLM licenses for all the IP Touch users: MY IP TOUCH BASIC SERVICES.
