Château Mauvinon Saint-Emilion Grand Cru History: In 1990, Philippe and Brigitte Tribaudeau decided to set up themselves up in producing their own wine on the familial estate: Mauvinon. Philippe leaved Bordeaux’s Bar and Brigitte brought her technical knowledge to produce a high quality wine in agreement with their terroir and their tastes. They handed over their passion to their children which are today carriers of future and innovation. The wine produced by the family is like them warm and complex. They harvest year after year more and more awards for Château Mauvinon and Gabriel Lauzat.

Situation: Château Mauvinon is situated on the famous SaintEmilion appellation, 40km far from Bordeaux, the wine capital of the world. The vineyard is stretched over 6.5ha which correspond to an annual production of about 40 000 bottles. The soils are gravelly and the vines are 30 years old on average. Merlot (66%), Cabernet Franc (28%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (8%) are the three varieties planted at Château Mauvinon.

Vinification: Grapes are harvesting by hand in little boxes to preserve integrity. A double selective sorting is realized to ensure a perfect quality of the must. Maceration and fermentation are kept under surveillance (daily tasting and temperature control). Wine is aged in French oak barrels half replaced each year. Tasting: -Temperature service: 16-18°C -Preferred dishes: Entrecote, Tournedos, leg of lamb, cheese (Brie de Meaux, sheep cheese) -Aromas expected: Red fruits (cherry, black berry) for young wine which will disappear in favor of leaser, undergrowth and mushroom with the aging
