Pick one or two words from each list in order to give the title that fits the best to your social function.
With this interface, my attempt was to go further than a simple questionnaire. Being potentially used by anyone, it had to provide a playful moment and be easy to use. Eventually, the elementary visuals allowed even children to go through this interface.
The results of the previous interface are exported into a script, where every answer plays the role of a shape variable. Eventually, based on the 3d-model of a foot, all the variables automatically blend into a unique shoe.
The Song, The Pattern and The Wallpaper.
concept / illustration 2006 The main idea behind this initiative is to challenge decorative patternmaking by creating wallpaper through a musical performance. Musicians use patterns, that is to say looped melodies, repetitions in order the create the structure of their songs. So, whether you want a "Rhythm & Blues", a "Black-Metal" or a "Postpunk" wallpaper, the melodies have to be perfectly looped to have a continuous pattern.

This project is a reexploration of the identity of the Dapperbuurt, an area of Amsterdam known for its social unrest. The guideline here was to conduct a careful research including exhaustive mapping in order to find an existing point of pride for the inhabitants. This point of pride happened to be the "Dappermarkt", market and true backbone of the neighborhood. As a result was suggested a new identity for the market based on the buzzword: "Dapper" and a series of 12 bags representing each a relatable element of the market, serving as the communication medium.

Litterally Slow Snacks. concept / design / photography 2007
This project aims at reexploring snack-foods and the compulsive eating they provide. A crossed investigation was conducted: 1. The mapping of common-snacks' visual codes, mouthfeel and tastes. 2. The finding of elements that can slow down the compulsive eating process. The new snacks offer similar features to common ones except: they take longer to eat and can be made very fast from fresh ingredients.
34% Pantone Chair 24% Random Chair 42% Red and Blue Chair. By Verner Pantone, Bertjan Pot and Gerrit Rietveld concept / (un)design / graphics / 3d-graphics 2007
Although chairs are considered icons of their time, there are now probably more chairs in the world than people to sit on them. Here, the idea is to eliminate the growing variety of unnecessary designs by blending icons together.
Overview of the morphings conducted. The first row features the original iconic chairs used in the experiment.
In order to do so, mathematical averages of iconic chairs were created in a digital 3d-environment, resulting in icons of icons. I decided to build one of the obtained combinations by cutting a 3d-model into 49 layers, which I used as plans for making a full-scale model in layers of MDF.

The leather craftswoman, and her visual identity. 2009
Results of a research for Rianne Van Pijkeren, a craftswoman specialized in bags and shoemaking. Besides the use of graphic codes related to her field, I followed her wish for colorfulness by creating a guideline carrying her visual influences. The logo had to provide the possibility of being drawn with a sewing machine.
