Description: High-build, quick-hardening two-pack primer-surfacer for car refinishing and new body work. This product provides an ideal substrate for all types of car refinishes. Universally applicable. Product and Additives: Autocryl Filler 3+1 Autocryl Filler Hardener 3+1 (see t.i.s. 6.11) Special additives: Autocryl Thinner 3+1 (see t.i.s. 6.50) Autocryl Accelerator 210 (see t.i.s. 6.32) 1.2.3 Thinners (see t.i.s. 6.20) 1.2.3 Retarder (see t.i.s. 6.49) Elast-o-Actif (see t.i.s. 6.14) Basic Raw Materials: Autocryl Filler 3+1: Hardener:

acrylic resin poly-isocyanate resin.

Suitable Substrates: • Existing finishes • Sikkens washprimers and washfillers • Primer Surfacer EP • Sikkens Polyester Putties and Polysurfacer • Polyester laminates • Wood or plywood • Bare steel surfaces Thermoplastic Acrylic Finishes or “soft” finishes: If to be finished with the Autobase system, first spray two coats of Washfiller 590. After 20 minutes at 20 °C apply Autocryl Filler 3+1 within the spot. Surface Preparation: • Existing finishes: degrease and sand with P220-P320 grit dry (3M 255P Gold) or with P400 grit wet (3M 734 Black). • Sikkens Polyester Putties and Polysoft: Sand with P220-P320 grit dry (3M 255P Gold). • Polyester laminates: Degrease and sand with P320 grit dry (3M 255P Gold) or scuff with Scotch Brite Red. • Wood: Sand with P220 grit dry (3M 255P Gold). • Plywood: Degrease and sand with P220 grit dry (3M 255P Gold). • Bare steel surfaces: Degrease and abrade with P120-P220 grit dry (3M 255P Gold). • Metal substrates: In systems which should meet the highest standards (metal surfaces), Autocryl Filler 3+1 must always be applied over Washprimer CR. After application of Washprimer CR, allow for a flash-off time of 15 minutes at 20°C. Tinting: If necessary, Autocryl Filler 3+1 may be tinted with a maximum of 10 parts by volume of Autocryl or Autocryl PLUS mixing color (without hardener) for better opacity. Mixing Ratio by Volume: 3 parts of Autocryl Filler 3+1 1 Part of Autocryl Filler Hardener 3+1. Autocryl Filler 3+1 can also be applied as a conventional surfacer by adding, for example, 10, 20 or 30 % 1.2.3 Thinner. Use mixingstick No 4

If a longer potlife is required (large objects) use Autocryl Thinner 3+1. Mixing ratio 3:1:1. Potlife: 45 minutes at 20°C In combination with Autocryl Thinner 3+1: 4 hours at 20°C Spray gun fluid tip and working pressure: Spray Gun: Fluid Tip: Working Pressure: Gravity feed: 2.0 mm 2-4 bar 1.5-1.8 mm can be used if 1.2.3 Thinner is added. Suction feed: 1.8-2.2 mm 2-4 bar HVLP gravity feed: 1.7-1.9 mm max. 0.7 bar at the air-cap HVLP suction feed: 1.8-2.2 mm max.0.7 bar at the air-cap Application Process: Spray one, two or three single wet coats, allowing for a flash-off time of 5-10 minutes between coats (depending on temperature and film thickness applied). Film Thickness: 50-60µm for each coat. Approx. 40µm for each coat if thinned with 30 parts by volume of 1.2.3 Thinner. Material usage: Taking into account a transfer efficiency of 70%, the theoretical material usage for one layer is 6 m²/l ready to spray mixture which calculates to 7 m²/l unthinned paint at 60µm. Note:

The practical material usage depends on many factors i.e. shape of the object, roughness of the surface, application method and application circumstances.

Cleaning of Equipment: In Sikkens Solvent, nitrocellulose thinner or 1.2.3 Thinner. Drying times: Dry to flat:

20°C 4 hrs

40°C 45 mins

60°C 30 mins.

If cured by long-wave infra-red rays: Dry to flat: 27 mins. Note: Can also be dried with I.R.(see t.i.s. 7.9). Recommended Sandpaper grades: Guidelines for mechanical and manual wet flatting of Autocryl Filler 3+1: For mechanical and manual wet flatting (3M 734 Black): Initial flatting with P500-P600-grit paper Final flatting with P800-P1000-grit paper. For mechanical dry flatting (3M 255P Gold): Initial flatting with P320-grit paper Final flatting with P400-P500 grit paper. For manual dry flatting (3M 255P Gold): Initial flatting with P320-grit paper Final flatting with P400-P500-grit paper. See also relevant topcoat information. If sanded wet allow 30 minutes at 20°C drying time before topcoat application.
