QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:

Question 1: Concerning requirements 4.1.29 and 4.1.30, is it the intent to have the low power setting of 1 Watt minimum and the high power setting of the maximum supported for each frequency band as described in Table 4.2? Answer 1: The output power of the radios must be at least 1 Watt on the lower side and is not to exceed the allowed high power as specified in Table 4.2 depending on the operating frequency band. 4.1.29 have programmable low power output setting of 1 watt minimum; and 4.1.30 have programmable high power output setting for each operating frequency as specified in Table 4.2 Question 2: In reference to the requirement of providing Microphones that support noise cancelling, we have implemented superior noise cancelling within the software of the transceiver. The noise cancelling automatically adjust for high and low noise environments. The software based noise cancelling does not need a noise cancelling microphone to function and performs very well with the standard microphone. Would CBSA accept this technical solution for the mandatory requirements listed? •

M-93 4.5.7 The Mobile Radios must be supplied with a compatible mobile (hand) noise-cancelling microphone and microphone mounting clip.

M-140 4.8.6 The Mobile Remote Head must be supplied with a compatible mobile (hand) noisecancelling microphone and microphone mounting clip.

M-150 4.9.6 The Desktop Radios must supply a desk-style noise-cancelling microphone that is compatible with the radio it is connected to.

Answer 2: The radio (portable, mobile, remote head & desktop) must be capable to cancel noise with either of these option ways: • •

Question 3: Could you expand on the MSRP pricing and why you are not asking for the resulting cost? Answer 3: This approach was taken to have a simple benchmark for use when establishing which discount range each given call-up must use. This approach also helps ensure that a large call-up with few items from each CLIN would benefit from the same discount range as a large call-up of many items from a single CLIN. 2) At Section 1.2 Summary: Delete: 1.2.1 in its entirety Insert: 1.2.1 Canada Border Services Agency and other departments still to be identified have a requirement for the establishment of a Standing Offer for the supply of Single Band P25 Encrypted Radios (user terminals) and accessories. The period of the Standing Offer will be for a period of one (1) year with one (1) one (1) year optional period. Each year will have an anticipated cashflow of approximately $750,000.00, subject to increase as additional Standing Offer Users are identified.

Portable Radios Specifications: Delete: 4.1.29 and 4.1.30 in their entirety Insert: 4.1.29 have programmable low power output setting of 1 watt minimum; and 4.1.30 have programmable high power output setting for each operating frequency as specified in Table 4.2 All other terms and conditions shall remain unchanged.
