Microelectronic, acoustics Head presentation : The fabrication processes of ferroelectric thin/thick films and their integration into miniature or microelectronic devices has become a technical issue of major importance. It concerns not only ceramic manufacturers and laboratories that are developing new compositions and fabrication processes, but also the microelectronic industry that find here the way to fabricate smart structures in integrated devices. Applications of these devices cover the fields of high frequency acoustic transducers, RF filters, electromechanical sensors and actuators, MEMS ….. This conference will be the opportunity to examine these new aspects of polar ceramics : their fabrication processes and their integration within miniature and integrated devices. This will be the occasion for users, laboratories and manufacturers of ceramics to learn about the latest developments. Session A will be dedicated to ferroelectric materials: fabrication, technology, characterization methods and properties. Sessions B will be dedicated to devices, applications of thin and thick films and ferroelectrics in MEMS . Session C will be dedicated to modeling and design of materials and devices, and session D will be on standardization and characterisation methods. Two type of contribution will be given : Invited. Speakers will given a lecture on current trend in their application field. They are invited to write a paper that will be publish in a book review Contributed papers : poster

Location : Courmayeur The city The Pearl of the Alps: this is the name that Courmayeur has deserved due to the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding scenery, the harmony of its mountain architecture and its long tradition of hospitality. It is not without reason that it is the most famous and oldest Italian Alpine resort, dominated by the majestic landscape of the Mont Blanc chain. Courmayeur is only 5 kilometres from the Mont Blanc tunnel that links Italy to France. Its privileged geographical position makes it easily reachable from the main European cities and their airports. Nesting in an enchanting valley at an altitude of 1224 metres, Courmayeur became a tourist attraction at the end of the XVII century as a Spa, because of its mineral waters. Today, it is one of the most important ski resorts in the world, its rare charm emanating from a magical and exclusive place. Further details can be obtained on the web site : http://www.courmayeur.net/

How to reach Courmayeur By car Courmayeur can be easily reached from Northern Europe via Chamonix by the Autoroute Blanche Highway and the Mont Blanc Tunnel Courmayeur is approximately an hour's drive from Torino and a little more from Milano. Airports The closest airports are Torino's Caselle and Milano's Malpensa and Linate. Courmayeur is approximately an hour's drive from Torino and a little more from Milano's airports. Courmayeur is also approximately an hour's drive from Geneva's Cointrin Airport via France and the Mont Blanc Tunnel.
