VRAKSIAN REGIMENTS The Traitors of Vraks are an Imperial Guard Regi ment whose memebers have turned to the patronage of Chaos, and have only just begun to take their first tentative steps on the path of damnation. At Epic scale it is in most respects similar to a standard Imperial Guard army, as the insidious machinations of Chaos have yet to become fully manifest. The Vraksian armies are noteworthy amongst Imperial Guard style forces as lacking the support of Super Heavy Tanks like the mighty Baneblade. As a consequence they rely on a greater than typical variety of main battle tanks, of the Leman Russ and Malcador classes. Although most Vraksian regiments do not have traitor Titan allies, they are able to draw on support from allied Chaos aircraft and Alpha Legion Space Marines.
SPECIAL RULE: ENFO RCERS
Fanatically loyal to the Arch Heretic Cardinal Xaphan, the Enforcer Cadre act as political officers to the armies of Vraks, encouraging the men with inspiring rhetoric between combats, and lethal ‘persuasion’ during battle. Vraksian armies are allowed one Enforcer for each 500 points available to the army list. The first Enforcer must be attached to the Supreme commander’s Company (If there is one present). Subsequent Enforcers may be attached to any formation in any order. No formation may have more than one Enforcer. Aircraft may not carry Enforcers, and the Alpha Legion will not tolerate Enforcers joining their formations either!

Vraksian Supr eme Commander The Supreme Co mmanders on Vraks were normally entrusted to ad-hoc Regiments of around eight thousand infantrymen, plus their supporting tanks, artillery and logistical train. Each high ranking officer will have either been a
commissioned officer in the Vraksian Auxillia before the war, or a dutiful lieutenant from the ranks of Cardinal Xaphan’s followers, entrusted with the prosecution of Xaphan’s will on the sodden battlefields of Vraks. Vraksian Supreme Commanders did not typically enga ge in the fighting personally, but instead orchestrated the war from armoured bunkers behind the front lines.

As the war on Vraks ground on, Infantry Platoons began to vary wildly in composition, with each platoon finding itself a preferred organisational doctrine. In practice, each Platoon had come to ape the ways of their Chaos Space Marine warband allies, becoming divergent sub-units within the greater whole of the armies of Vraks.

armies obeyed their orders.
In the days after the change of power on Vraks, thousands of Cardinal Xaphan’s Enforcers were assigned to the Vraksian Regiments.
The method by which the Enforcers carried out their orders was typically brutal. Outside of battle deserters or shirkers would be publically flogged and then executed, whilst in the midst of battle anyone seen to be disobeying orders would be shot without delay. Inevitably, many of these savage Enforcers were amongst the first Vraksians to fall to direct worship of the Chaos Gods.
Callous instruments of Xaphan’s will, each Enforcer was equipped with the best weapons and armour from Vraks’ storehouses, and was given directions to ensure that all troops in the Vraksian VRAKSIAN ENFORCER Type

Alpha Legion Lord The first allies drawn to assist the Vraksian armies were of the fallen Astartes Alpha Legion, the personal warband of the ancient heretic Arkos the Faithless. Arkos’ warband consisted of at least a dozen distinct retinues, each led by one of Arkos’ trusted
lieutenants, known as Lords. Each Lord on Vraks had doubtless seen hundreds, perhaps even thousands of battlefields, as their lives were often unnaturally lengthened by the patronage of the Chaos Gods. Arkos himself took to the battlefield only on rare occasions, for the most part placing confident trust in his subordinate Lords.

is right do the Alpha Legion overtly reveal their presence, and often not even then.
The Alpha Legion are the most mysterious of the Astartes traitor Legions. For ten thousand years they have sought to overturn the Imperium through subterfuge and intrigue. Rather than engage the Imperium in direct battles, the Alpha Legion work through others, spawning cults and insidious rebellions. Only when the time
On Vraks, the Alpha Legion warband of Arkos the Faithless operated alongside the traitor army, primarily as military advisors, but also occasionally as heavy shock troops, as with their Powered Armour, enhanced physiques and centuries of experience, they outmatched almost every foe with whom they came into conflict.

Alpha Legion Rhino The Rhino armoured personnel carrier is the most common vehicle in service with both the loyalist and traitor Astartes forces. For ten thousand years the Rhino has served both forces well as a rugged high speed transport, capable of deploying the elite troops within across the harshest of battlefields.
Notoriously robust, although they are can be knocked out of action by comparatively low volumes of anti-tank firepower, the Rhino’s robust construction ensures that in most cases it can be quickly repaired and put back into service . Thus it is that some Rhino hulls, both loyalist and Chaotic, are of truly ancient origin, with their first commissioning dating back to the founding days of the Imperium itself.

Disciples of Xaphan Before the war for Vraks Cardian Xaphan had been a persuasive religious leader, thousands had aligned themselves beneath his banner. After the revolt, Cardinal Xaphan handed out many favours to those of his followers who had most proven their loyalty, and amongst the most favoured were those devotees known as his Disciples.
The Disciples were rewarded for their staunch loyalty with access to the best weapons available from the deep Vraksian storehouses, and tasked with a sacred duty; wherever the enemy broke through the Vraksian lines, the Disciples were commanded to meet them head on. Many times during the war for Vraks the Disciples would be thrown into the breach, and many times they would seal it shut.

Notes: Scouts. Ogryn Berserk ers Normally crudely armed with clubs, cudgels, and other blunt instruments, many Ogryn inhabitants of Vraks were surgically lobotomised before being fitted with chemical injectors, each filled with potent psycho-stimulators intended to enhance aggression and dull the pain responses from the nerves.
The end result of this crude surgical enhancement was the Orgryn Berzerker, a nine foot tall psychotic killing machine, which could shrug off horrific injuries without care, and tear apart the enemy with an insatiable bloodlust, moving everforwards until finally being felled. Those Ogryn Berzerkers that managed to survive the initial engagements with the enemy invariably died soon after from their chemical overdose.

Notes: Fearless. Leman Russ Destroyer Tank Hunter The Destroyer Tank Hunter is a rare sight on the battlefields of the 41st millennium, the complex methods of its construction having been forgotten by all but a handful of Forgeworlds. On Vraks, many of these rare tanks were found by the rebel forces in deep storehouses, perfectly preserved and ready for battle.
The usual method of employment of Leman Russ Tank Destroyers on Vraks involved grouping them into small squadrons, which would be kept behind the front lines awaiting enemy movements. When an enemy attack materialised, the tank hunters would be moved into pre-prepared ambush positions and await the enemy advance. Used in this manner, tank hunter squadrons successfully blunted many armoured advances.
