The Micronauts come from Paris, where Christophe Monier was born. Fuelled by his love of acid house he released records in handfuls, under various names like Impulsion, Nature or Discotique. And he worked on a pocket-sized fanzine called Eden, which was the catalyst for bringing together like-minded souls Daft Punk, Dimitri From Paris and Érik Rug. Though The Micronauts don't sound anything like the filtered disco boys of the Parisian scene... The ‘Nauts like to spook. Eschewing conventional DJ like builds sonic skills mixing, Christophe up a sinister soundtrack of acid house, twisted techno and basslines that can knock your socks off from several streets away. Check his box and you'll find, alongside his own tracks and remixes, Underground Resistance, Tipper, Chiapet, DJ Pierre and Green Velvet. And of course his pals and remixes - The Chemical Brothers; "They've got that squiggle" said Tom Chemical when asked to explain why he chose The Micronauts as his favourite band for 2000. Every release has won the ‘Nauts across-the-board support. Over the last few years 'The Jag' was played by James Holroyd before the Chemicals took to the stage every night on their 'Surrender' tour and featu red in the charts of everyone from Laurent Garnier, to Adam Freeland to Jon Carter. The mini-album 'Bleep to Bleep' is a true representation of the Micronauts sound: dark, funky and twisted. A 'proper' album is out this year. Christophe has got a residency at top acid house haunt Headstart at Turnmills in London and regularly plays at the Big Beat Boutique in Brighton and Bugged Out! in Liverpool. In Paris, he’s got a residency at top electro nights Break at Queen and Naked at Pulp.
