“The Cultural History of Europe” from the medieval period to the present The 10th Annual European History Days will focus on “The Cultural History of Europe.” The two-day program includes more than 30 conferences led by renowne d scholars in history, art history and geopolitics. The European History Days are dedicated to cultivating awareness and knowledge of Europe today through a better understanding of Europe’s past. As such, it targets a wide and varied audience. This year’s theme will examine the historical and geographical contexts behind the key cultural and artistic movements that shaped European civilization. Spanning the medieval period to the present, conferences will cover a variety of topics, including: the major linguistic and religious spheres of influence; currents in music and literature; trends in art and cultural practices. The 10th Annual European History Book Fair will take place during the European History Days. This fair highlights francophone publishers specializing in history, art history and geopolitical publications. The 4th Annual European History Book Award, under the patronage of Mr. Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament, will be announced during the European History Days.
