IMPORTANT An existing TC-DD luminaire was designed to be used with standard fluorescent lamps and either electronic or magnetic ballasts. To use TC-DD Emergency LED lamps the luminaire must be modified, i.e. components removed and wiring altered. Any modifications to a luminaire will nullify the original manufacturer’s certification and declaration of conformity. The person or company modifying the luminaire will take full responsibility for safety, EMC compatibility, environmental features, product markings and any legal issues resulting from the modification. Existing markings or labels must be removed and new labelling must be added to the luminaire.

See Diagram 1: 1. Isolate from the mains supply before installation or maintenance. 2. To install the TC-DD Emergency LED in an existing luminaire the ballast must be removed and the internal wiring modified as shown in Diagram 1. 3. A switched mains supply is required for maintained operation. 4. A permanent mains supply is required for the Emergency operation. 5. Mount the Emergency Pack into the luminaire, there are two fixing positions. 6. Connect the switched live mains supply to the luminaire terminal block: Live (Brown or Red) to terminal marked L Neutral (Blue or Black) to terminal marked N Earth (Green/Yellow) to terminal marked e 7. Connect the Switched ‘Live’ and Neutral to the lampholder pins as shown in Diagram 1. 8. Connect the Permanent Live and Neutral to the Emergency pack as shown in Diagram 1. 9. Connect the EM output to the lampholder pins as shown in Diagram 1. IMPORTANT: The emergency connection to the lamp is low voltage DC and connecting a 240V mains supply to these pins will damage the lamp. Fix the charging indicator LED in a position so that it is visible for inspection. Connect the Battery connector into the socket as shown in Diagram 1. The batteries are internally fitted in the EM pack. Remove existing labelling and apply the new labelling, ensure that no reference to fluorescent lamps remains. Insert the lamp and refit the luminaire diffuser and switch on the mains supply. Please note it is the installer’s responsibility to ensure that the luminaire is electrically safe after modification.

MODIFICATION DES LUMINAIRES EXISTANTS x
IMPORTANT Un luminaire existant TC-DD est conçu pour être utilisé avec des ampoules fluorescentes standard et des ballasts ferromagnétiques ou électroniques. Le luminaire doit être modifié pour pouvoir accueillir des éclairages de sécurité LED TC-DD, c’est-à-dire que certains composants doivent être retirés et le câblage modifié. Toute modification du luminaire annule donc le certificat original du fabricant ainsi que la déclaration de conformité. La personne ou la société qui modifie le luminaire est entièrement responsable de la sécurité, de la conformité CEM, des caractéristiques environnementales, du marquage du produit et de toutes les questions légales résultant de la modification.

Les marquages ou étiquettes existants doivent être retirés et un nouvel étiquetage doit être apposé sur le luminaire.

Coupez l’alimentation secteur avant toute opération d’installation ou de maintenance. Pour installer l’éclairage de sécurité LED TC-DD sur un luminaire existant avec ballast électronique, il faut retirer le ballast et modifier le câblage comme indiqué sur le schéma 1. Une alimentation secteur à commutation est nécessaire pour un fonctionnement en mode secouru. Une alimentation secteur permanente est nécessaire pour le fonctionnement de secours. Montez le pack de secours sur le luminaire. Il existe deux positions de montage. Connectez l’alimentation secteur à commutation au bornier du luminaire : Sous tension (Marron ou Noir) sur la borne notée L Neutre (Bleu ou Noir) sur la borne notée N Terre (Vert/Jaune) sur la borne notée

Connectez les câbles « sous tension » et neutre de l’alimentation à commutation aux fiches de la douille comme indiqué sur le schéma 1. Connectez les câbles « sous tension » et neutre de l’alimentation permanente aux fiches de la douille comme indiqué sur le schéma 1. Connectez la sortie EM aux fiches de la douille comme indiqué sur le schéma 1. IMPORTANT : La connexion de secours à l’éclairage se fait en c. c. à basse tension C et la connexion d’une source d’alimentation secteur 240 V à ces fiches endommagerait l’éclairage. Fixez la LED d’indication de charge dans une position visible lors d’une inspection. Branchez le connecteur de la batterie sur la douille comme indiqué sur le schéma 1. Les batteries sont intégrées à l’intérieur du pack EM. Retirez l’étiquetage existant et apposez le nouveau, en vérifiant qu’aucune référence à l’ampoule fluorescente ne subsiste. Insérez l’éclairage, remettez en place le diffuseur et mettez le luminaire sous tension. Veuillez noter qu’il est de la responsabilité de l’installateur de s’assurer que le luminaire est sûr une fois modifié.
