Kingtiger turret parts found in 2001 near Mantes-la-Jolie (France) This tank from the 101 SS.s.Abteilung was lost in a crater on 26 August 1944. It was blown up by a scrap dealer after the war and the small metal bits were buried when the D913 road was constructed. Bruno Renoult, a local historian, discovered and recovered parts of the turret, including the roof and parts of the turret’s left side.The hull of the tank still remain (in bits) under the road. There is a project to recover all the bits still remaining under the road, to reconstruct the tank and to build a monument where the tank will be displayed, but it encounters technical and administrative difficulties. http://www.vexinhistoirevivante.com/memorial_tigre.html

Panther Ausf. A hull – Private collection, in the area of Düsseldorf (Germany) This hull comes from the Saumur Tank Museum, France (it is painted on the hull) and was given to the WTS Koblenz (Germany). Parts of this hull were used to restore the WTS Koblenz Bergepanther. It then came to a restoration facility near Düsseldorf. The owner wants to built a driveable Bergepanther from the Panther hull. He is currently collecting missing parts, no work has been done yet on the hull (Jens Hill; Axel Recke, http://www.militaria-fundforum.de/)

PzKpfw. IV turret – Hungarian Military Museum, Budapest (Hungary) This turret was modified in the 1950s, in order to serve as a machinegun pillbox on a defensive line. It was recovered near Matty (a town located near the border with Croatia) in March 2008, and restored. Today it can be seen in the court of the Hungarian Military Museum in Budapest, reconstructed as a pillbox. During the cleaning process, fragments of the turret numbers were found. The number is supposedly 82146, which would make this turret a part of a short-barreled Panzer IV Ausf. F (Ferenc Bálint)

Jagdpanzer IV early L/48 front armour plate and gun + PzKpfw. IV or StuG IV front hull Armoured Weapons Museum, Land Forces Training Centre, Poznań (Poland) On 28 November 2009, a front armour plate with mantlet and gun were recovered from a private terrain near the Citadel. It was probably destroyed during the battle of "Festung Posen" in 1945. Funding this vehicle is a historical mystery because no historical source evert mentioned the use of any Jagdpanzer IV during the battle of Poznań (even the people who organized this action expected a Russian tank or a gun). The parts of Jagdpanzer were dug in the ground of a garden after the war and the owners forgot its existence (Rafał Białęcki). The front hull part was found in Krzewata, Poland (Piotr Lewandowski). Brummbär main gun – Private collection (France) This 15cm main armament would have belonged to a Brummbar of Sturm Panzer Abteilung 217 that fought in Normandy during the Summer of '44. It is to note that a 75mm round from a Sherman tank is embedded in the rear part of the mantlet (Lerenfort website)

StuG III Ausf. F chassis – "Stalin Line" Museum, Zaslavl', Minsk Voblast (Belarus) This chassis was recovered from a bog near Mstislavl on 19 October 2010. It will be restored at the Stalin Line museum (Belarus), and th the restoration is hoped to be completed for the 70 anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.It was built in 1942 and was probably lost in 1944 during operation Bagration. Sturmgeschütz III hull part – Korsun/Cherkassy pocket museum (Ukraine) In September 2010, the Ukrainian government was informed that the “Black Archeologists” were preparing to recover the remnants of an armoured vehicle at Nagornaya-Poboyaya village - located just North of the river Gornyy Tikich, and East of Zhashkov village. As the recovery of the vehicle was illegal, an official inspector of the Ukrainian Government, assited by a section of the local Police, went on observation of the site during three nights and days. As the "Black Archeologists" (who wanted to make some money out of it) recovered the vehicle, the guys were arrested and their "find" confiscated by the Government. The StuG III was immediately handed over to the Museum of Korsun. The vehicle is now cleaned up; displaying most of its original paint and some handwriten markings. Inside the hull several spent cases of 7,92mm (Carbine 98 and MG) and some 9mm (MP and Pistol) were discovered in the mud. So this vehicle definitely saw some action in February 1944 (“Martinksi”)
