Outline † Current Multi Program Function „

The current Multi Program function enables to make some different programs for multi language broadcasting. The background picture is the same but the different characters can be inserted.

† Multi Program 2 Function „

The Multi Program 2 Software splits one ME hardware. This enables to make some different background programs and also different characters can be inserted.

„

This function makes the Switcher ME rows double. This is effective for cost saving and space saving for the processor. (Please note there are some limitations on a split ME to be compared with a standard ME mode.)

„

Also one Technical Director (Switcher operator) can make several programs. This realizes an effective program production.

Outline † Makes ME rows double „

The Multi Program2 can make one ME rows double. By using 2ME processor units MVS-8000ASF short frame processor, the 4 ME rows system can be made. This is effective for space saving and of course cost saving. (The processor hardware is split and four keyers per ME are shared for two portions. So please note there are some limitations for both banks. Also functionality of Sub bank is less than Main bank.)

† Available on MVS-8000A and MVS-8000ASF „

The Multi Program 2 is realized by hardware and software. The hardware is prepared on MVS-8000A and MVS-8000ASF. By entering the software license key, this function will be available. This function is not available on MVS-8000(non-A), MVS8000SF(non-A), DVS-9000 and DVS-9000SF.

Operation Example †

This function is used for the following operations. (Please see the drawings later)

†

Set and Forget Operation „

†

Home and Away Operation „

†

Usually, the program picture uses Picture-in-picture effect is prepared on one ME row. During the On-Air, the re-entry of the ME program is selected on another ME row. This consumes ME row. By using Multi Program 2, one ME is split to Main bank and Sub bank. The program using Picture-in-picture can be prepared on Sub bank and you can hide the ME row behind the Main bank. You can select the prepared picture of Sub bank on the Main bank. This does not consume the ME row.

In the case of live shooting of sports games such as Baseball, there are cases two different programs are made for Home team and Away team. The main scene of Batter is common for two programs. By using Multi Program 2, you can make different shots for Home team and Away team. The transition can be linked between two programs.

Studio Monitor Feed Operation „

When a monitor is placed behind a news caster in a studio, you can select inputs and make program for the monitor without sacrificing an entire ME row.
