One projects the sound, one is a body, another draws. From sound to line, oscillations of gesture. Interference and confusion of signs.

Nicolas Desmarchelier draws some refined lines. His hand dance on the screen. Big abstract figures are built under our eyes. The instant vibration freeze in the furrow of some black drawings, then vanishes. The leaf is turned over. New white leaf. Imaginary calligraphies drawn on the sand, and straight away blown out by the wind.

Like a shadow, Yukiko Nakamura crosses the space. Little by little, the view of a dancer becomes an other view, more abstract : a polymorphous matter in a slow transformation. The fibres bend, slacken and stretch, carved by air's movement. This abandoned body seems manipulated by invisibles forces, bewitched by some archaic spirits, which would have found there a perfect docile and supple suit.

Olivier Toulemonde handle sounds. With long springs hanged from the ceiling - like a big spider's web or an old electric machine - he develops large drones which reminds industrial noise, like an echo of the power expended to curve the metal around the emty space, when the spring was made in the factory.

Like workers of a giant seismograph, the three artists record movement of earth's crust, skin's oscillations and air's turbulences.

In perfect autonomy, the three join together, in trough of sound, in fold of skin, in thickness of the leaf.

Yukiko Nakamura – Lorient (F) Yukiko Nakamura was born in Japan in 1970 and began dance when she was 8 years old. In 1990 - 91, she lives in New York, where she studies with Merce Cunningham at Dance Center and with José Limon at Dance Institut. In 1992, she comes in Paris, and works especially on contemporary dance, working with many choregraphers. She discovers theater in 1999, with Olivier Pauls, on the piece “l’amour n’est jamais un incident de parcours”. In 2000, she studies Butô with the great dancer Masaki Iwana and developp from this time her own approach of the body. Since 2000, she works on improvisation, either on solo performances or with other musicians and dancers, like Ly Thanh Tîen, Li Ping Ting, Le Quan Ninh, Michel Doneda, Masayoshi Urabe... Yukiko Nakamura is one of these extreme performers like only Japan can give birth. She’s more interested to perform on the edge of experimental and underground music than in usual contemporary dance spaces. Naked body, flesh and harsh, dressed only by white painting. Extreme slowness, when all the world is going faster and faster. Both frightening and beautiful, her dance deals with horizontality. Like a crawling animal, she curls up into hollows of space.

Nicolas Desmarchelier – Lorient (F) Studied both music, in conservatory, and fine arts, in Ecole des Beaux Arts de Lyon, he began a double career of improvised music and graphic designer. Since 1994, he works with Ishtar Collective (Bourg-en-Bresse) and collaborate on many multidisciplinary creations, mixing dance, video, music, drawing and poetry. For 10 years, his graphic researches leads him to draw on small size leafs, which can be enlarged. He draws quickly – few seconds for a leaf – some lines, which catch the instant. These miniature pictures reveals a spontaneous character. He has performed at : Musique Action (Nancy), Densités (Fresne en Woëvre), LEM festival (Barcelona), Festival des Musiques Innovatrices (St Etienne), Instants Chavirés (Montreuil), Horlieu (Lyon), Extrapool (Netherlands), Malterie (Lille), APO33 (Nantes), Humanoise Congress (Wiesbaden), Les Cent Ciels (Nancy)…

Olivier Toulemonde – Brussels (B) Works on improvised and electroacoustic music, with acoustic objects, amplified springs and field recording. As a sound artist, he works on listening, sound research and relationship between sound and space. In 1993, he was a co-founder of "Collectif Ishtar" (in Bourg-en-Bresse) together with 20 other musicians and dancers. A year later, he joined "Collectif et Compagnie" (in Annecy), where he first started working with electro-acoustic music. He has played in several festivals, such as Musique Action (Vandoeuvre), Densités (Fresne-en-Woëvre), Rencontres de musiques Spontanées (Rimouski - Canada), LEM (Barcelona), Glasgow International festival, 38èmes Rugissants (Grenoble), Re:Flux (Moncton - Canada), Concerts d'Hiver et d'Aujourd'hui (Annecy), Festival des Musiques Innovatrices (St Etienne), Curva Minore (Palermo), Festival Luisances (Brest), Humanoise Congress (Wiesbaden), Sonorités (Montpellier), Musiques Libres (Besançon), Beta Project (Pau), Minim (Barcelona), Huis a/d Werf (Utrecht) and many clubs in the world (Europ, USA, Canada).
