Just like the surrounding vegetal life, the installation works in cycles - 3 electro-acoustic pieces of 20 minutes each and a set up of random videos that last 3 hours in total.

VP

Sow pixel, reap frequency is an audiovisual installation for an inside and/or outside garden, made up of quadraphonic sound pieces and of videos shown on 4 multi-dimensional split up screens.

The sound environment is made of 3 autonomous pieces written following different techniques. The first one is concrete narrative piece created out of daily life sounds (field recording). The second, entirely written with electronic devices, is an artificial vision of reality. The last one, hybrid, oscillates between cinematics and sound experimentations. These are all propositions which are progressively merged together in an organised and manipulated surrounding. In the same way as the sound, the videos use various techniques (photography, vidéo, motion design, stills or moving photographs). Pixels, natural materials and structures, still or in movement, run into each other, clash or merge to offer random patterns of movements. The fusion between visuals and acoustic space invites the audience to wander in the installation, discover a peculiar surrounding where senses are kept alive. The installation offers a poetic vision which appeals to our senses and sometimes surprises them. It leads us to a journey, offers a moment for contemplation, some sort of an inside garden…

BRIAN BAIGNOIRE (Benoît Bellet / silent move / Berlin) Baignoire has been interested for a long time in experimental and contemporary musics. The twentieth century is rich of attempts to create a music that would live away from standard harmony and regular rhythms. Three years ago he started to practise field recording and software montage. He is in search of human emotions which could arise from everyday sounds such as natural elements (water, wind, animals...) or human life (traffic, voices, machines...). With the help of computers, these sounds can offer a wide range of possibilities in terms of natural rhythms and sound textures. Partly due to the influence of different cultures, today’s Berlin “noise scene” is pretty open minded and stimulating. Baignoire recently started collaborations with various artists in order to play live. His performances are based on direct recording of noise with the help of contact microphones. The sound is then processed and diffused... with a good amount of uncertainty. A few musical references: Luc Ferrari, Bernard Parmegiani, Tristan Murail.

Christine Delholme (Kiki / CLAFOOTI / silent move - Lyon) As a self taught person, Kiki experiments graphic design (flyers, posters, websites) for Clafooti, an association founded in 2002 aiming at promoting all aspects of electronic culture and connecting technological creativity with artistic performance (cultural events, sound and visual productions, website) Up to today, several hybrid projects came up where sound and visual performance, scenography are essential components. (Electronic Circuit Festival Les Nuits Sonores, CNG (Cinéma Nouvelles Génération), lesv (Live Electronique Sonore & Visuel), Festival La Nuit Bleue). In 2004, Kiki turns to Vjing. She starts Vjing for Clafooti parties/nights and/or for the local scene. Her work evolves and turns to motion design, abstract graphic animations as well as research on moving typography in order to offer experimental visual installations together with composer ZEF. Today, Kiki is working on more autonomous visual objects that could interact closely with an experimental musical surrounding and visual installations.

PJ Pargas  (çavadkp / silent move - Lyon) Composer and designer, PJ Pargas graduated from the Valences Fine Arts School. Since the mid 1990’s, he has been experimenting with digital visual and audio interactivities.   As an independant worker, he mixes commissioned works and artistic projects. In 2001, as a co-founder of the artistic collective DopeBase, (Lyon’s electronic music platform) he achieved several collective and personal projects (LP, performances, installations, etc.). He multiplies collaborations with artists and collectives of various universes and fields. From 2006 onwards, besides his own projects broadcasting and his different artistic approaches, he’s also been animating creative digital workshops for schools, secondary schools or even companies. PJ pargas works on tension relations between rythmic material, melodies and visuals ; searching ways of creating new forms of digital writing, as it can be found in his « projet_M.T. » or in [detur], a collaborative work with La mèche (VJ) or in « Boîte à musique ». The latest is an installation/performance created with choregrapher Delphine Gaud, who also introduces the notion of participation and interdisciplinarity. Always looking for new paths, he creates a dark and troubled, hectic universe, filled with bugs, pixels, micro cuts and super 8, where strange breaks and melodic vortex create a true sensorial collison, where calm and tension mix endlessly.   [ Scopitone (Nantes, fr), Les nuits sonores (Lyon,fr), les photographiques ( Mans, fr, Le CUBE (Issy-lesMoulineaux, fr), Musée d’art contemporain de Lyon, Château Rouge (Annemasse, fr), Epicerie Moderne (Feyzin, fr),… ]    Collaborations:  [ Delphine Gaud (Choregrapher), Olivier Chabanis (visual artist), Damien Beguet (visual artist), DJ Zef (Composer), VJ Kiki (Videaste), Laurent Dratler aka DJ Poulet (Composer, Musician), Derrick Giscloux (Composer) Bertrand Merlier (composer, teacher of University Lyon 2 Music and musicology départment), La mèche (VJ and visual artist), projet bizarre (association, Vénissieux, fr), l’Olympic (musique actuelle Nantes, fr), symphonic orchestra of Philipe Fournier, bee records (Label, Lyon, fr… ] [French] http://www.pjpargas.com [French] http://www.myspace.com/pjpargas [French] http://www.virb.com/pjpargas

Stéphane Estève (ZEF / CLAFOOTI /silent move/ Lyon) DJ and Composer, ZEF has made his own tracks and some of them were released on CLAFOOTI RECORDS, a label he founded in 2004. Some remixes are also available on various compilations. Co-founder of Clafooti, association founded in 2002 aiming at promoting all aspects of electronic culture and connecting technological creativity with artistic performance (cultural events, sound and visual productions, website), ZEF participates in creating interdisciplinary projects. As a composer, ZEF brings an unusual kind of style during his live performances, between improvised & experimental electronic compositions, witnesses of his universe and soul. Recently, he has been involved into a fine sound project, trying to crossfade his own electronical background and electro-acoustic researches. He has involved different artists in this way in order to explore digital, sound and visual art. For this purpose, he created inside CLAFOOTI an ambitious umbrella project called SILENT MOVE: combination of acousmatic and electronic music and visual art.
